V-J Day: Video General MacArthur Accepting Japanese Surrender

Seventy years ago today, August 14, 2015, President Harry Truman announced the end of World War II. “V-J Day” entered our vernacular, and denotes “Victory Over Japan Day.” On September 2, 1945, Japanese officials surrendered aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay. It is my understanding that this audio of General McArthur’s voice is one of the few available. Video below.
