I stopped by BadBlue a few minutes ago, just one of my many daily visits there, and found that the baddest, 24/7, uncensored news site on the planet, had picked up one of my posts from more than a year ago. In May 2014, the news broke that Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) had appointed Philip Kiko to the position of “Majority Staff Director” for the House committee investigating Benghazi. Kiko, who is also a lobbyist for a plethora of organizations you disdain, works for the Smith-Free Group (see list below), and is known to conservatives as a lobbyist for Muslim Advocates, an organization that features Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on its website banner. With Pelosi is Farhana Khera, the President and Executive Director of Muslim Advocates, one of the protected species under the umbrella of the Muslim Brotherhood. (The question is, did Trey Gowdy choose Kiko, or did Boehner force his appointment on the committee? More below.)
Ms. Khera was Counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Property Rights. In the Senate, she worked for six years directly for Senator Russell D. Feingold (D-WI), the Chairman of the Constitution Subcommittee. Ms. Khera focused substantially on the Patriot Act, racial and religious profiling, and other civil liberties issues raised by the government’s anti-terrorism policies after September 11, 2001. She was the Senator’s lead staff member developing anti-racial profiling legislation and organizing subcommittee hearings on racial profiling. Source: Muslim Advocates
Muslim Advocates is all about stopping racial profiling and hate against Muslims, but not concerned with Muslim’s hate for infidels. Not on their radar. Nevertheless, we are expected to believe that Kiko is interested in bringing forth the truth about Benghazi, and that he couldn’t possibly be tainted by his representation of Muslim Advocates or the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, and so very many far, far left organizations. My original article with a list of associations is below, but first some information on Kiko from Legistorm. I believe the periods and salaries shown are by quarters, but note that Kiko was paid $958.33 for one day’s work in January 2015.
|START DATE||END DATE||POSITION||AMOUNT||NOTES|
|House Select Committee on Benghazi||01/03/15||03/31/15||Staff Director/General Counsel||$42,166.67|
|House Select Committee on Benghazi||01/01/15||01/02/15||Staff Director/General Counsel||$958.33|
|House Select Committee on Benghazi||10/01/14||12/31/14||Staff Director/General Counsel||$43,125.00|
Hillary Clinton’s former Chief of Staff and close friend Huma Abedin is always in the news. Whether it’s her ties to the Muslim Brotherhood through her parents, or her marriage to the lewd and irresponsible Anthony Weiner, or the fact that she might have violated conflict-of-interest laws related to her State Department work, maybe, simultaneously with the Clinton Foundation. Huma is on our minds these days, and this photo is too good to pass up.
Begin original article:
If Philip Kiko is the “Majority Staff Director” for the House Select Committee on Benghazi, I’m expecting the “Minority Staff Director” to be, maybe, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad, or Dalia Mogahed. It’s not a stretch. I admit I don’t know much about the way a House Select Committee is formed. I haven’t found anything explaining why an outside “majority staff director” is needed, but assuming one is needed, why has Rep. Trey Gowdy chosen lobbyist, Philip Kiko, who has worked on behalf of the most liberal of all organizations (see that partial list below).
• American-Arab Anti-Discrimination
• American Association for Affirmative Action
• American Federation of Teachers (AFL-CIO)
• Amnesty International
• Equal Justice Society
• Global Rights
• Immigration Equality
• Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund
• Muslim Advocates
• National Black Justice Coalition
• National Center for Lesbian Rights
• National Center for Transgender Equality
• National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty
• National Committee on Pay Equity
• National Council of La Raza
• National Immigration Forum
• National Immigration Law Center
• National Organization for Women
• Open Society Policy Center
• Sierra Club
• Southern Poverty Law
• and most of the member churches of the liberal National Council of Churches
Congressman Gowdy’s statement about Philip Kiko:
He has a proven record of effective leadership and management, and I am pleased to have him on our team as we conduct a serious, fact-driven investigation to ensure our fellow Americans know the full truth about what happened in Benghazi,” Gowdy said in a statement. Source: Politico
Speaker John Boehner, dragged kicking and screaming into this investigation, “praised” Kiko, who has a history of working for Republicans on the Hill. Boehner said Kiko is a “man of unquestioned integrity.” So there’s the story: Boehner picked him (is my guess). There is still reason, in my opinion, to believe that Boehner knew of, and approved Ambassador Chris Stevens’ mission — running weapons from Libya to the Syrian rebels, reason enough that Boehner, and perhaps the entire House leadership, did not want this investigation.
Just after reading of Kiko’s appointment, hubby walked into my office and said he heard today that “pessimists” are plagued with dementia far more than optimists, so I’ve decided that Kiko is just fine with me.
