Common Core: Another Prick in the Wall

I know the Pink Floyd controversies, the philosophies, etc., but this “prick in the wall” is another thing (and, of course, a spoof, but a serious spoof).

  • I can hear the sound of children’s brains as they cry in pain as Common Core sucks the life out of them. Common Core is truly a system based on ignorance of reality which only teaches kids what to think, not how to think.

    • It makes my brain cry, just trying to figure out what they are going to teach. I understand how they plan to do it, but not what they will feed the minds of our children. Sinister comes to mind.

      • Sinister, criminal, sneaky. Modern liberalism cannot survive under the light of truth, so it created a system, in its own image, to keep children from learning the truth.

        • I have a horrible feeling that we won’t stop it. We might stop the name, Common Core, but, for instance, in Oklahoma, our Republican governor is Chairman of the NGA. She knows she’s in trouble at the polls and says she will support repeal, but what will we teach? We’ve spent millions of dollars already and taken millions from the government. If parents are not vigilant, there is nothing any of us can do.

          • Here in Arizona, we’ve pushed for school choice. We have a lot of home schooled children, private schools, and charter schools. We’re also a right to work state, so no strong teacher’s unions. The school districts are losing enrollment and are panicking because the general attitude that I see is that the public school system is failing.

Now in states like the Socialist Republic of California, the only thing those people can do at the moment is to move out of the state. Perhaps some of the counties will secede from the state.

But, being a cynic, I think you’re right and Common Core will do a lot of harm before all of this is over.

The SAT is being revised by David Coleman, one of the architects of Common Core. The same will happen to the ACT, the GRE, etc.

As a result, there is no way to escape Common Core. The best that we can hope to do is to inoculate our children against Common Core.

Common core is just another form of Cultural Marxism.
