News9 is reporting shots fired “near” on the University of Oklahoma in Norma. Students received text notices to shelter in place at about 11:30 a.m. today. Continuing updates throughout the day.
UPDATE: 1:28 p.m. CDT: As of about 1 p.m. CDT, no evidence of shots fired on the campus of OU has been found. Read the details here.
UPDATE: 12:13 p.m. CDT: Fox reporting a person of authority telling a class that a “noise created” by some kind of equipment may have possibly been mistaken for shots fired.
UPDATE 12:03 p.m. CDT: Oklahoma Daily’s Kyle Margeruma is on Fox reporting a shooting inside Gould Hall. SWAT is inside the building, but Fox is also reporting that no shots have been fired and the campus is open with the exception of Gould Hall.
At 11:17 a.m., police got a report of shots fired on campus. They don’t know if there is a victim or not.
OU sent this text out to students: “OU Emergency: Shooting on campus. Avoid (Gould Hall). Seek immediate shelter in place.”
Gould Hall is the architecture building. It’s on the south end of campus near the football stadium and Gaylord College. Source.
