The government, meaning taxpayers, reimburse ambulance services across the country. In the case of the city of Nogales, Arizona, right on the border with Mexico, ambulances are busy running to-and-fro picking up illegals and treating them – even those who are sick and come only for medical care, not to stay, but the government is reimbursing the city only 20-cents on the dollar, leaving Nogales with $250,000 in unreimbursed costs in the past fiscal year alone. The city’s “acting finance director” says Nogales could provide “a higher level of service” to residents, as in ‘legal residents,’ if the government would just send our tax money to them.
The good people of Nogales are forced to put up with thousands of lawbreaking aliens, many druggies or smugglers, felons, some killers, leaving their waste everywhere, and the problem is much bigger today because of Obama’s ‘don’t touch our future voters’ policy. For the fiscal year of 2013-2014, $76,055 was billed for the months of July, August and September, and expected to rise to $304,000 by June 30, 2014 (interesting numbers here).
My mother lives in a assisted-living facility. Every month she pays to have ambulance service whether she needs it or not. It’s a good thing, and she is taking care of herself. She is not a wealthy woman. She sacrifices to do what must be done.
No way to fix this problem anytime soon…
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) made an unusual move by granting temporary asylum to several Mexican immigrants, including a handful of those who are illegally in the United States, after they crossed the border in a pro-amnesty protest in late July .
“The Homeland Security Department tentatively approved asylum requests for seven Mexican immigrants, including some who were living in the United States illegally but left and attempted to re-enter as part of a protest against U.S. deportation policies,” the Associated Press’ Alicia Caldwell reported on Tuesday. “The preliminary approval is highly unusual because it is rare for the U.S. government to grant asylum to Mexican citizens.” Source: Breitbart
Read more of the article above and get to the bottom line. These illegals were “protesting” the United States and our immigration policies, so, of course, they could stay.
Here’s a new one, at least to me. Nogales allows illegals to cross the border to shop – just come on over and shop! And it’s ‘legal.’
Nogales is a border city about 60 miles south of Tucson, and is adjacent to the Mexican state of Sonora. It boasts a vibrant shopping district that attracts residents from Sonora who can cross legally to shop. But there are also a high number of illegal crossings, which sometimes result in confrontations with U.S. Border Patrol agents.
When those confrontations result in injury, the city is expected to send its emergency medical personnel to deal with it. Source: NewsMax
According to this source, 30,000 Mexican shoppers cross the border from Nogales, Mexico to Nogales, Arizona to shop – every day.
In 2010 there were approximately 383,000 illegals in the workforce in Arizona, “approximately 9.3 percent of the total workforce. In January 2012, unemployment in Arizona was 8.7 percent – 262,587 Arizonans “officially unemployed.” See all the stats here.”
Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
