Sunday Worship Music: Healer by Hillsong

Today, my favorite Christian blogger (forgive me for that weekly confirmation of the “established fact” that Carl Middleton is my favorite) is talking about the “established fact” of the promise of healing. A rather enormous subject, don’t you think? Then why are people who are much prayed over and for, not healed? We all must die in someway, and wouldn’t it be an odd world if everyone died at a certain age, i.e., everyone dies at 85 or 95. Throughout our lifetimes, we are healed in ways we don’t acknowledge, often not even aware of, but then comes that one time when healing is not in our future or the future of our loved one. Whenever that time is, our soul turns to the promise of everlasting life. As always, Carl’s post examines the ‘words’ important to this discussion. See a video of Hillsong’s Healer below.

Here is a snippet of Carl’s column:

Just as the Lord’s Prayer is an example of how we are to pray to God the Father … so likewise the Apostle James gives the church the steps to be taken when we pray for the sick.  These are not rules to follow, but rather inspired guidelines.

James 5:14-16 … “Is any sick among you?  Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Read A Firmly Established Fact here.

Hillsong – Healer Lyrics | MetroLyrics

You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease

I trust in You
I trust in You

I believe You’re my healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe Lord

I believe You’re my portion
I believe You’re more than enough for me
Jesus You’re all I need
My healer

You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease

And I trust in You
Oh, I trust in You Lord
I trust in You

And I believe You’re my healer
I believe You are all I need
You are, I believe Lord

And I believe You’re my portion
I believe You’re more than enough for me
Jesus Youre all I need

For nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

For nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

For nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

And I believe You’re my healer
I believe You are all I need
Oh, I believe, I believe Lord

I believe You’re my portion
I believe You’re more than enough for me
Jesus Youre all I need

And I believe You’re my healer
I believe You are all I need
Jesus, Jesus

And I believe You’re my portion
I believe You’re more than enough for me
Jesus Youre all I need

Youre more than enough
Youre more than enough for me
Youre more than enough
Jesus You’re all I need
You’re more than enough for me

I believe Lord, I believe Lord
I believe Lord, I believe Lord
I believe Lord, I believe Lord
I believe Lord, I believe Lord

Maggie … when I first saw this picture a couple of years ago of this young woman on what I assume is the grave of her husband, taken from her by war … it broke my heart. God is able to heal even a broken heart.

And then in this video I noticed the lead singer has an oxygen tube on while he is professing Jesus as his healer … before he is healed. Both, the young girl and this singer are doing the right thing … calling on God for help in time of need.

Thank you for your words of truth, that there are times when … “our soul turns to the promise of everlasting life.”

    Blessings Maggie …

Carl, when I was searching for a photo, there were many choices for “healing,” but I couldn’t get this picture out of my mind. I already had it in my library and haven’t used for a very long time. This is what I was talking about when I said that sometimes we are healed in ways we don’t recognize. I hope that healing happens for this young woman, still grieving I’m sure. The photo is from 2007. I also noticed the oxygen and wish I had remembered to mention that in the post.
