Egypt: Head of MB Freedom Justice Party Joins Mubarak at Tora Prison – Mubarak Regime Prisoners Rejoice: Saad Katani, Rashad Bayoumi in Tora

Dr. Saad Katatni, the head of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political wing, the Freedom and Justice Party, along with Deputy Rashad Bayoumi, have reportedly joined former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Tora Prison in Cairo. Mubarak , who tamped-down the Brotherhood for decades, deposited the troublemakers in Tora. Mubarak regime prisoners were reportedly celebrating in the prison yard. Katatni was also the former ‘speaker’ of the Parliament, which held a majority of seats, which was shocking to everyone around the world except the Obama administration. According to this translated report, Katatni and Bayoumi “entered prison in terrible silence,” and are ‘”shocked.” In April 2012, Bayoumi said this about the 1979 Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty:

The Muslim Brotherhood has stated they will not honor the peace treaty, even if the Egyptian people demand it. The Muslim Brotherhood’s “deputy Supreme Leader,” Rashad Bayoumi says, no matter what the people want, the “Brotherhood” will never “sit down” with Israel. “We will not deal with Israelis by any means,” he said. Source.

Every Egyptian leader since Nasser has kept the Muslim Brotherhood at arm’s length. Nasser imprisoned many of them, Sadat released them but refused to let them run for Parliament. Mubarak continued those policies. Not until Morsi came to power were the Brotherhood allowed to run for Parliament where they achieved a majority of seats.

Fateful words: “no matter what the people want….”
