A hospital in Cairo has reported that a Dutch journalist, Dina Zakaria was gang-raped (reportedly five (5) men) in Tahrir Square. Her injuries required “surgery.” Reminders of the torture Lara Logan survived during the revolt before Mohamed Morsi was “democratically” elected. This is a Lara Logan deja vu. Ms. Logan is the chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News…a reminder below of some facts about Ms. Logan and her criticisms of Barack Obama that you may not remember.
Dina Zakaria, a journalist reporting for the “Egypt 25″ news channel affiliated with the January 25 revolution, shared the incident on her Facebookpage Sunday: “A Dutch journalist in Tahrir was raped by men who dub themselves revolutionists. Her condition is severe and she is hospitalized.”
Meanwhile, a state hospital issued a statement that the journalist was admitted after being raped by five men several days ago. She underwent surgery and has been released. It was also reported that Egypt’s Prosecutor General Talaat Abdallah ordered his staff to go to the hospital to hear the woman’s story and reveal the circumstances behind the violent attack. Beautiful 60-Minutes journalist Lara Logan was reporting on the so-called Arab Spring on the day Hosni Mubarak left his palace forever. The week before, Logan survived a “harrowing night” in a Cairo jail, “blindfolded” and put in a “stress position.” According to the NY Daily News, Logan was “kicked out” of Egypt but “spent the next week struggling” to go back to Cairo. Which she did. The same day she arrived back in Cairo a brutal rape of some sort happened. More on that below, but for now, Lara Logan who has spent long periods of time in Islamic countries spoke to the Better Government Association, in CHICAGO, a week ago and told them the Obama rhetoric (Taliban apologists) about the Taliban for the past two years is a “lie.”
My interpretation is that Ms. Zakaria is blaming anti-Morsi protesters for the violence against here. I’m looking for more information about Egypt25 news or Ms. Zakaria, but have come up with nothing viable.
