I’m looking for an update from news two years ago that Mexico was building a wall on their almost 500+ mile border with Guatemala. There was a lot of initial news, but now I find nothing (or have missed something). If you have an update, let me know. It’s pertinent today as we have amnesty for illegals of all persuasions looming in the Senate. The video below is from ABC (2011) reporting on hundreds of Muslim illegals coming into the U.S. from Mexico. Here’s the original story on the Mexico wall/fence with Guatemala and then the video addresses an Islamic smuggling route from Europe through Guatemala and into Mexico.
Contraband, along with 500,000 humans of some undesirable ethnicity, is/are coming into Mexico from Guatemala. Mexico has decided to protect its sovereignty by building a wall. The wall on the Guatemalan border, is blamed on the United States.
According to Mexico’s National Commission on Human Rights, 500,000 people from Central America cross into Mexico illegally every year.
Just as Mexican authorities have opposed the construction of a fence by the U.S., along our border with their country, Mexico is now receiving a great deal of criticism from the Guatemalan government…
The Catholic Church has been highly critical of U.S. treatment of illegal aliens, and one priest in Central America used the news of the Mexican wall to take another shot at the American people.
Father Francisco Pellizari, of the Casa del Migrante told IPS: “The dramatic increase in the cost of ‘polleros’ (human traffickers) and the corruption of the authorities is the result of the walls the United States plans to build and has built along the border. We can transpose the Guatemala case to this situation and the results will be the same.” Source: Examiner
…Another prominent Mexican official, Foreign Secretary Luis Derbez, insisted that, “ Mexico is not going to bear, it is not going to permit, and it will not allow a stupid thing like this wall.”…
Continuously complaining that the United States violates Mexican immigrants’ rights, Mexico has filed lawsuits for perceived violations both in The Hague’s World Court and, in June, in U.S. District Court in opposition to Arizona’s SB 1070.
The truth is that no country is as welcoming to immigrants, both legal and illegal, as the United States. Starting with free pre- and post-natal care for expectant mothers who give birth to anchor-baby citizens and followed by free education and a host of other social services, the illegal immigrant living in America has a good deal.
Mexico, by contrast, is a horror show. Pity the illegal alien who lives in Mexico.
In 2010, Theodore’s World talked about the 570 mile-long border with Guatemala and Mexico’s hypocrisy. MainInfo talked about it. Numbers USA talked about it.
“CNN is reporting that 142 illegal immigrants crossing the border from Guatemala into Mexico were arrested and are now being held in jail. Under the Mexican Constitution and statutes, intentionally crossing into Mexico without proper documentation is a felony subjecting the violator to immediate imprisonment. In addition, imprisonment follows even in circumstances where the illegal immigrant has paid a bribe which is often “required” to cross the border…”
“Just last month, 513 people were apprehended in two trailers in Chiapas, bordering Guatemala. They represented a cargo worth at least $3.5 million. Another trailer filled with 219 people was discovered in January.”
Oh the irony, including the irony of our wussified and Marxist legislators who refuse to responsibly secure our borders, and lie about their attempts to do so.
There are approximately 1300 Muslims in Guatemala. Not a huge number but there is a committed effort in that country by the Muslim community to grow those numbers, not only in Guatemala but throughout the world.
“Guatemala is selected by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community as a center to spread Islam to the rest of Latin America, it was revealed during the program of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Convention which is held every year in the country. The President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community of Guatemala, Abdul Sattar Khan, reported that there are followers of Islam in El Salvador, Panama, Bolivia and Ecuador, and that they have a small community in Colombia.”
“The idea is to bring Islam to other countries”, it was reported in a press conference.”
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a distinct sect, but generally shares beliefs with Sunni Muslims. On jihad, I found this quote from their website:
Jihad is of three types. One, the Jihad against oneself which in Islamic idiom is called the greatest Jihad (Jihad Akbar). Two, the Jihad that is waged against Satan and satanic teachings and designs, and is called the great Jihad (Jihad Kabeer). Three, the Jihad that it waged against the enemy of freedom of conscience; this is called the lesser Jihad (Jihad Asghar).
When you hear that jihad is an inner struggle only, remember the above.
In the ABC video below, the investigator follows the route from Europe through Latin America. At 3:44-in you’ll see a highway sign welcoming travellers into the Republic of Guatemala – squarely on the pathway to gaining illegal entry into the U.S. through Mexico.
