Thanks to Dan Collins on Facebook and at The Necropolitan Sentinel for news, albeit not confirmable at this time, that the FBI has surveilled Tamerlan Tsarnaev at sometime after his return to the U.S. mid-2012, in addition to whatever they did in 2010 at the behest of a “foreign government.” The article also says that FBI in Boston believe the brothers worked with an ‘organized radical element’ in Massachusetts. In the photo below from JihadWatch we learn that Tamerlan did indeed drive a very “nice” car, a Mercedes, as one college friend said. Has anyone heard of Tamerlan having a work record? I haven’t but the article below says a local mosque alerted Homeland Security about Tamerlan.
Tamerlan left the United States in January 2012 for Russia and returned in mid-July, according to records uncovered by NBC in New York.
But an official inside the Department of Homeland Security with knowledge of federal law enforcement activities in Massachusetts has claimed to MailOnline that Tamerlan was on the radar screen of agents in Boston between his return to the U.S. and the end of the fall. Source: DailyMail UK
In the DailyMail article there is a photo of Tamerlan with someone. The caption reads:
Under the radar: Once source told MailOnline in an unconfirmed claim that law agencies received tips from inside a local mosque in 2012 about young Muslims who were becoming radicalized. Tamerlan Tsarnaev was allegedly one of those.
If this is true and a local mosque alerted authorities to Tamerlan, then I am heartened, and how very, very sad that this administration is unwilling to take all precautions, including the premature to prevent the kind of tragedy we saw in Boston this week.
In addition, DailyMail is claiming that source inside Homeland Security hold them that the FBI in Boston believes the Tsarnaevs received assistance from an ‘organized radical element” in Massachusetts. Please bear in mind that this is the DailyMail and sources are not named.
