Not only did the state of Pennsylvania not inspect the clinic of heinous abortion ‘doctor’ Kermit Gosnell who routinely slashed the throats of aborted babies who refused to die, the state completely stopped inspecting all abortion clinics in 1993 until and unless a direct complaint was made against one of the clinics – oh but wait…there were complaints against Gosnell’s killing field, and the state ignored them. The Liberal media has been close to silent until the last few days about the Gosnell story. Is it possible to compare press, or the lack of it, on Gosnell and Newtown killer Adam Lanza and come away with clear evidence of the injustice which the media feeds us daily? Hit and Run Blog did.
Gosnell Background: Gosnell ran two abortion clinics in the Philadelphia area. He was arrested in January 2011 and on Grand Jury recommendation, is charged with eight counts of murder, one a young woman in her early 20’s and seven babies born alive in his care.
“This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors,” it states. “The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths.”…
One former employee described hearing a baby screaming after it was delivered during an abortion procedure. “I can’t describe it. It sounded like a little alien,” she testified. Said the Philadelphia Inquirer in its coverage, “Prosecutors have cited the dozens of jars of severed baby feet as an example of Gosnell’s idiosyncratic and illegal practice of providing abortions for cash to poor women pregnant longer than the 24-week cutoff for legal abortions in Pennsylvania.”Source: The Atlantic
Media on gun control and abortion:
The trial, ongoing since March 18, has received scant attention in the mainstream media. That lack of attention certainly supports the notion of a media with a liberal bias. After all, the Gosnell case, quite unsurprisingly, has yielded an emotional response that pro-life activists can use to draw sympathy for their cause.
Jezebel points out the obvious, writing that “Gosnell doesn’t represent or stand for abortion care in any way. Abortion, done right, is a safe medical procedure.” But this idea of a high-profile case drawing an emotional response, and the attempt to use that emotional response to drive a policy debate, ought to be familiar.
Jezebel’s statement, after all, could just as easily have read: “But Adam Lanza doesn’t represent or stand for gun ownership in any way. Gun ownership, done right, is a safe practice.”
Jezebel notes that “fewer than 0.3% of abortion patients ever experience a complication that requires hospitalization,” according to a pro-abortion rights group. But even according to anti-gun statistics, there were only 33,000 gun-related deaths in 2011 for 300,000,000 guns owned in the country (fewer than .00012 percent). The violent crime rate in the U.S., in fact, is approaching a historical low. Source: read more at Hit and Run Blog
Exactly. The Liberal bias against the right to life and to keep and bear arms is viscious and neverending.
