Impinging on Individual Freedom in Full Throttle: Melissa Harris-Perry Quotes Kahlil Gibran

Whose common good is the question to ask if you don’t already know, because you can be certain it isn’t the common good of a responsible set of parents.  In this case it begins with funding education at a higher level, which funds Unions, and voting booths, puts Democrats on Capitol Hill and raises up generations of Leftist-robotic children. Quoting Kahlil Gibran, she seriously tells us our children “come through you, but not from you.” Now that’s exactly what we’ve been trying to tell these Liberal freaks – our children are a gift from God, so please, quit sucking them out of wombs and placing them on the trash heap of history, and, by the way, teach proper history so that we don’t have to walk around hating you every minute of every day.

Without hearing a word from Harris-Perry, a child without alert parents is already innundated with Leftist  thought, bent by the strong Leftist will, their souls mired in Liberalism, their bodies stooped by victimization, and desperately needing taxpayers to supply abortions, birth control, and their high-speed broadband. It’s community organizing at the basement level.

Over a million unborn children have their rights “impinged” upon permanently, by the Harris-Perry’s of this world every year, and no good has been advanced in any conceivable way unless you consider the triumph for Satan.

Do you think Professor Harris-Perry champions vouchers for school choice, so that you, the parent, can make decisions about your child’s education? Of course not. Nothing collective about your desires for your child’s future.

So those of us who do not abort, need her Village? I think not. When you hear her speak of your child and “policy” in the same sentence,  pay attention to the chill up your spine because the ‘impinging’ is in full throttle.

See the video below. It contains Harris-Perry’s first declaration of collective need  and then doubles-down.

Harris-Perry (Professor of Political Science at Tulane and MSNBC host):

“This isn’t about me wanting to take your kids, and this isn’t even about whether children are property,” said Harris-Perry. “This is about whether we as a society, expressing our collective will through our public institutions, including our government, have a right to impinge on individual freedoms in order to advance a common good. And that is exactly the fight that we have been having for a couple hundred years.” Melissa Harris-Perry

Psalms 127:3-5 ESV

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

Matthew 18:10 ESV

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

Think about it: those tiny tiny ones who had their throats slit by abortionist Kermit Gosnell, are seeing the face of God the Father – the direct result of Harris-Perry and the Lean Forward campaign – “expressing” their “collective will through our public institutions,” and you and I pay for it.

It’s not  known if Syrian-born Gibran was Christian or Muslim or otherwise, but his Mother was Catholic. In his book The Prophet, in what is known as The Children’s Chapter, he penned the words Harris-Perry quoted:

And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, “Speak to us of Children.”
And he said:

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

  • This woman’s ratings are bigger on your blog. See how she twists her own words.. Who is the poet she quotes.. like that makes what she said right?

    • 60’s Hippies were fond of quoting Gibran. I think she got his meaning completely wrong. David, what do you mean her ratings are bigger here.

      • More people will see and read about her than viewers on her show.. lol

  • The words “social justice” and “fairness” are code words of collectivism.

To my dismay, too many Americans cannot recognize those code words for what they really are.

That’s exactly how dopey libs operate. As soon as anyone catches up with their language, they change it. It’s much harder to hit a continually changing, morphing and moving target. It’s ever evolving, they’ve been doing it for decades.

They use to try and hide it, not anymore. They feel emboldened and are right up front and in your face now. This is the best shot they’ve ever had, to control the agenda. Unfortunately there are too many Americans who have hit the snooze button and haven’t caught on yet.

      • Geo, it seems clear to me that they want to tell us what we can and cannot do with our children, for he common good of our communities, but…let us step in and say, hey, get your kids out of gangs, off the streets and into school or you will feel the pain for the havoc you have allowed your child to perpetrate against society – it’s hands off. It’s one-sided.
