Did you know there is a specific Memorial for our men and women lost in Middle East wars? I didn’t, but there is and what I saw in this video will put a lump in your throat, right after your heart skips a beat and then maybe a tear in the eye, or for the guys, maybe just a speck of dust flew-by. An honor guard of 12,000 motorcyclists accompanied the first of the black granite wall(s) sitting on a river bank. Each year the walls are rededicated and new names added, dog tags handed out with the names of the newly fallen, and honored with about 50,000 in attendance.
Land was donated on June 19, 2004 by the MTCO Corporation, Marseilles Cellular, an operating partner of Illinois Valley Cellular which hosts the event each year. In 2007, Illinois Valley Cellular donated a portion of their lobby for the museum
…a gift of love and respect from the American Patriotic Community who could not wait for the government to say Thank You.
