Bill O’Reilly Calls Alan Colmes a Liar: You Don’t Know Jack – Monica Crowley Wins Best Line!

Rather than B.S., let’s get specific:

Bill O'Reilly

Bill O’Reilly

First, note that Monica Crowley had the best line in the whole exchange, earlier on, to O’Reilly: “What are you talking about?” O’Reilly thinks because America voted Democrats into the House…Democrats who are vilely corrupt, who were willing to do backroom deals by the dozens and blocked Republicans out of all negotiations to achieve the votes for ObamaCare, is fine – because they were elected. O’Reilly even dismisses socialism.

Monica Crowley

My loose transcript of a portion of the video is below.

O’REILLY: The Washington Post and Brit Hume both…not compatible ideology usually, both make the same point. The president is willing to have Americans suffer for the the greater good of trying to have Nancy Pelosi be the new Speaker of the House.

COLMES: Blathers something

O’REILLY: Did you read the Post article? He’s making it impossible to reach accord with Republicans

COLMES: It’s one thing to say he wants to flip the House. It’s another thing to say he purposefully want the American people to suffer.

O’REILLY: He’s making it impossible to get anything done.

MONICA CROWLEY: Yes, we can go back to who Barack Obama is (and her body posture is ‘arms crossed’). Remember when he was campaigning in 2008, he talked about the “fundamental transformation of the Nation? Now we have over 4 years of evidence of exactly what he meant, so what he wants is the last two years of his presidency to look like his first two years, meaning a wide open political field…

O’REILLY: But he didn’t do this the first two years.

CROWLEY: What are you talking about? He got Socialized medicine. He started ramping up the spending and growing the government.

O’REILLY: Here’s where you’re wrong. You might disagree with ObamaCare, but he got it done, all right?

CROWLEY: And how did he get it done? Because he had massive majorities in Congress which is what he wants for the last two years.

O’REILLY: It doesn’t matter how he got it done…but here, he hasn’t even submitted any proposals. Don’t you see the difference? Back then he was saying I want socialized medicine or whatever, now he just says, I want to raise taxes…there is nothing he’s put forth.

CROWLEY: He is not a problem solver. He is a fundamental transformer. You have to understand that. He is not a normal president.

COLMES: I disagree with both things said here. He’s offered $2.50 in tax cuts for every dollar spent.

O’REILLY: No that’s not specific. No.

COLMES: Yes he has.

O’REILLY: No, that’s not specific. He has to say, here are the programs that are going to go down, here’s how we’re going to reform medicare and social security and the man refused to do it.

COLMES: That’s not true.

O’REILLY: Yes it is. Hold it…hold it (pointing finger) caused I’m getting teed off at you. Give me one damn program he said he’d cut. One.

COLMES: He said he’d cut entitlements

O’REILLY: Not entitlements. On program…

COLMES: What do you want to yell at me for?

O’REILLY: Because you’re lying.

COLMES: I’m not lying Bill. Don’t calle me a liar.

O’REILLY: You’re lying

COLMES: Don’t you sit there and call me a liar

O’REILLY: Here’s the proof (finger stabbing)…

COLMES: Don’t sit there and call me a liar.

O’REILLY: I am. Give me one program…

COLMES: We can have a disagreement without calling me a liar. That’s not necessary…

O’REILLY: No, you are lying…Where’s the proof?

COLMES: [blathers about O’Reilly personally attacking him]

O’REILLY: This is why I’m calling you a liar. Give me one program he said he’d cut.

COLMES: He would cut Medicare and Medicaid.

O’REILLY: That’s not a specific program.

COLMES: You asked me for a program. Those are programs.

CROWLEY: Okay. You know when he has said anything that even approaches what you are saying Alan [Colmes is Crowley’s brother-in-law], he doesn’t mean it. I’ll give you a specific example…

O’REILLY: No. I want to stay with Colmes cause I don’t usually do what I just did to him, but I asked him four time, Colmes, to give me one specific program out of all the federal budget. $3.2 Trillion worth of spending that Obama said he would cut…one – one – give me one.

COLMES: He has hurt himself with his base because he said he has talked about cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.

O’REILLY: Do you know any specific…$3.2 Trillion in spending. I asked Colmes for one. He can’t provide it. [to Crowley]

CROWLEY: I cannot.

O’REILLY: Both of our people cannot provide one out of $3.2 Trillion in spending that this president said he wold cut, and you sit there and you say you’re not? Come on.

COLMES: You accused this president of wanting the people to suffer in this country. That”s absolutely untrue. You disagree with him…

O’REILLY: He’s sat in the Oval Office for 5 years with a $17 Trillion dollar debt and refusing to say one program that he’d cut. You don’t think that’s putting a burden on the American people?

COLMES:  What do you call Medicare? I keep telling you…

O’REILLY: No, you’re not telling me anything. It’s jack, what you’re saying. There’s another word for it, but it’s an obscenity, all right?

COLMES: We just disagree.

O’REILLY: No, it’s not about a disagreement. You.can’t.backup…you can’t give me one example of any federal program that he said he would cut.

COLMES: I just said he would cut Medicare.

O’REILLY: No Medicare…you keep saying he’s going to cut Medicare. Where is he going to cut it? Is he going to take money away from 62 year-olds, 58-year-olds? Is he going to take it away from the states? Where is he going to cut Medicare.

COLMES: There would be less money going to the states. There would be less going to…less money reimbursed to the doctors. He’s actually talked about cutting reimbursements to doctors and hospitals…

O’REILLY: This is just bull-blank

COLMES: He’s cutting reimbursements to doctors and hospitals

End my loose transcript.

Then he turns to Crowley. There’s more.

  • Maggie,
Off topic….CPAC has now dissed Robert Spencer.

    • AOW, the heat is on. I’m not too surprise. Thanks for the heads up.

  • Much as I often detest O’Reilly, particularly when he does his schtick on the oil companies, this was a fun segment, not to mention true.

    • I like O’Reilly when he is on the case of child predators and the Judges who allow them to end up on the street. Other than that, he just irritates me almost every evening. He has to wait for a consensus of those who can intellectually blow him away before he makes up his mind.

I would’ve strangled Colmes a long time ago. I was surprised he stood up to B’ore as much as he did. He usually spews nothing but bs, B’ore didn’t come off too good in that exchange though.

obozo hasn’t compromised on anything. Not spending money in future budgets that you are spending now, doesn’t count as cut backs or savings [Iraq and Afghanistan], except in some dopey lib accounting book.

obozo was only successful [if you consider it a success] in his first two years because he didn’t have to negotiate or compromise. He had overwhelming majorities in both Houses. Community agitators don’t negotiate, especially ones from the south side of Chicago, they demand and threaten to attain their goals.

Colon Powell may not like to hear it, but Sarah Palin and John Sununu had it exactly right, obozo is “lazy”, he doesn’t like to work for anything and doesn’t think he should have too.

    • Geo, I agree and especially about Palin and Sununu. I want to see more of Sununu – like every evening. Guess that won’t be happening with Sarah. It’s a shame.

  • Colmes always has a smirk on his face. One day someone will wipe that off. I hope to be able to see it happen.

    • findalis, no you won’t see it, you’ll just hear about the lawsuit.

I really got into O’Reilly after reading his book, Culture Wars… but, he’s taken a huge slide to the left these past few years. I don’t know if it’s him, or Foxnews not letting him do his job anymore… Monica is basically right, if we lose the House in 2014… we will be seeing the same legislation pushed through as we did 2007 – 2010… and possibly the loss of our country.

    • montanaconserv, O’Reilly straddles the fence so often I’m surprised he hasn’t been cut clean in half. Really, he panders first so he can get an interview. When he can see that’s not going to happen, he begins to listen to what the analysts think, and now he is beginning his turn, because it is so blatantly obvious where he is taking this country. Monica nailed it and he didn’t even notice. As I said earlier, I am grateful for the work he does against child predators. Jesse Watters is the best part of his show, oh and when Laura Ingraham sits in for him.
