Yesterday I wrote about the missing minutes in the phone call Trayvon Martin made to his girlfriend in the time/minutes just before his death, and how an ABC reporter seems to have the information, but George Zimmerman’s defense attorney does not. Read those details here. This morning I was greeted with an email from the Department of Justice, replying to my email to them regarding Trayvon Martin. I did not, and have never, emailed the U.S. Department of Justice. Note that the reply is seems to come from the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ. The last sentence in my post was: “In this case, it was reported as racism immediately.” George Zimmerman was reported as “white,” by NPR. His father is of German descent and his mother Latino. Trayvon Martin was Black. The New Black Panthers immediately put George Zimmerman in their “crosshairs” and put a $10,000.00 bounty on George Zimmerman’s mixed-raced head. Bounties are illegal. The Civil Rights Division orchestrated the dismissal of the adjudicated case against the New Black Panthers in the Philadelphia voter intimidation case. The entire Martin/Zimmerman story was driven by race by the Left. A “Pastor” at a White House “Easter” breakfast wore a “hoodie” in honor of slain Trayvon Martin. As an aside, the Muslim Brotherhood also visited the White House Easter week. Perhaps most outrageous reporting of the story was NBC altering/selectively editing the transcript of George Zimmerman speaking to a 911 operator (who he called to report suspicious activity in his neighborhood). The 911 operator asked Zimmerman “what does he look like?” to which Zimmerman replied “He looks Black.” NBC edited out of the transcript ”what does he look like?” This led to accusations that Zimmerman used a “racial slur.” Here’s the e-mail from the DOJ:

The Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice, the United States Attorney=s Office for the Middle District of Florida, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have opened an investigation into the facts and circumstances of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The department will conduct a thorough and independent review of all of the evidence and take appropriate action at the conclusion of the investigation. The department also is providing assistance to and cooperating with the state officials in their investigation into the incident. With all federal civil rights crimes, the government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the subject acted intentionally and with the specific intent to do something which the law forbids – the highest level of intent in criminal law.  Negligence, recklessness, mistakes and accidents are not prosecutable under the federal criminal civil rights laws.
I did not ‘bold’ the text. The above is exactly the way it come to me with the exception of the email text being sans serif, which my template does not accommodate.
The ASKDOJ contact is legit. The following is from the DOJ ‘Contact Us’ page:

I don’t know what happened here. Someone is obviously using my email address for some purpose to bring attention to me and/or my blog. Similar things have happened to a very good cyber friend of mine, in a most egregious and hateful manner with threats on her life and harm to her children. I won’t link to her stories today for fear of bringing the DOJ down on her or giving her cyber stalker(s) the idea of doing so, if they haven’t already.
At first glance, I wondered if someone was trying to bring to the attention of the DOJ that evidence is missing in this case against Zimmerman. I woke up when I focused on “The Civil  Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.” It’s all about race. Everything is about race. Nothing is about justice and someone using my email address cannot be justified for any reason…or maybe the whole things a hoax, but still using my email address???

Thanks Findalis, (part of my “good work” here is yours) if Zimmerman gets a fair trial it will be a miracle.
You may want to respond to the DOJ to deny that you sent the original email and request a copy of it to establish documentation. Whatever the origin of the email, you’re in their sights now.

Make sure to ask for the “internet Headers” on the original email.. this will give the IP addresses of what gateway the mail used, and what ISP it came from, etc. You can have your ISP take a look at them to see if the email came from their servers….
montanaconserv, thanks for this. Will do. I talked to my email provider tonight and they couldn’t figure it out, in fact, she was almost speechless. Said she had not heard of such a thing, and particularly with their service. I’ve been using them for a very long time.

Added note… have them look at the ‘headers’ on this email from the DOJ to see if it originated from the DOJ.GOV address… this could be a fake mail using their info…
I guess they can tell. The email address is exactly what it shows on the DOJ site but it seems odd to me that there is no footer message – like for you eyes only (that kind of thing about confidentiality). Seems there would be something.

Well, now that the election is over, DOJ, like Obama, is more…..flexible. J. Christian Adams, et al, have documented how DOJ’s entire recruitment since ’09 has been of verifiable left-wingers. Over a hundred of them specifically not looking for voter fraud or other violations, so they have plenty of free time.
