Radio Talk Show host Mark Levin, who was chief of staff to President Ronald Reagan’s Attorney General, Ed Meese, uses the peak of the Iraq war to calculate that our government has bought enough ammo to operate at peak modern day war level for 24 years. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the massive quantity build up is to be used for target practice.

The government’s only official explanation for the massive ammo buy is that law enforcement agents in the respective agencies need the bullets for “mandatory quarterly firearms qualifications and other training sessions.â€
The staggering number and lack of details in the official explanation, however, has led to rampant speculation, including concerns the DHS is arming itself to fight off insurrection among Americans.
“I’m going to tell you what I think is going on,†Levin offered. “I don’t think domestic insurrection. Law enforcement and national security agencies, they play out multiple scenarios. … I’ll tell you what I think they’re simulating: the collapse of our financial system, the collapse of our society and the potential for widespread violence, looting, killing in the streets, because that’s what happens when an economy collapses.
“I suspect that just in case our fiscal situation, our monetary situation, collapses, and following it the civil society collapses, that is the rule of law, they want to be prepared,†Levin said. “I know why the government’s arming up: It’s not because there’s going to be an insurrection; it’s because our society is unraveling.†Read the entire story at RedFlag

the disorder and chaos in the report and numbers and the lack of details in the government’s explanation fishy.. when they spend billions of dollars from the citizens’ taxes on military equipment, the reason for that must be declared and explained to everybody. I mean, in a free society..

My husband and I visit the gun range at least once a month… we use that time to keep up our skills. When we do shoot, we can burn through 100 – 300 rounds of ammo – depending on the gun, if we are sighting in a scope, etc… the key point is that we don’t use hollow point ammo for practice – it’s too expensive.. we may run a few in to see how the gun behaves, but for the most part we’ll use a cheaper bullet.
I guess what I’m trying to say is the DHS is full of sht. IMHO.
