Boehner Tells Senate to Get Off Their Ass Video: Boehner Caves – Loses Speakership

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) was blunt today, something he should be everyday, and every day he should be speaking to The People – he is after all the spokesperson for The People – saying the Senate needs to “get off their ass” and do something about the Sequester. Perhaps Boehner is getting the message. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) says he thinks Boehner “will lose his speakership” if he caves this time (about 3 mins into the second video).

John Boehner

“The president has known for 16 months that this sequester was looming out there when the super committee failed to come to an agreement. And so for 16 months the president’s been traveling all over the country holding rallies instead of sitting down with Senate leaders in order to try to forge an agreement over there in order to move the bill.”

“We should not have to move a third bill before the Senate gets off their ass and begins to do something.” ~ John Boehner

We can fix the entire budget mess easily and free up money for our brave troops to be paid and well equipped. All we need to do is cut back all Seniors Social Security benefits to a flat payment of $40 a week.

This $40 a week will be the Seniors the spend however they want to, on anything they need, but will never total more than $160 a month. This is a fair stipend for them to manage wisely for their special needs, but a lot less than the $1000 to $1200 each these Seniors are currently taking from the system. It literally reduces costs by 900%!!!

With this extra money we will reduce the deficit, have more money to spend on our military, and still offer the seniors a monthly stipend and some pocket money. The Social Security system was never set up to pay a PENSION, only a small monthly STIPEND. Since it has been turned into a free-ride PENSION fund by the Democrats in modern times it has grown well beyond its original intent. By reducing this BACK TO a stipend of no more than $40 a week for current recipients we save half a TRILLION each year!

Social Security is NOT a defined benefit system. It never promised a specific amount in return, and paying seniors a “pension” averaging $1000 or more each month for life is unacceptable considering most of these recipients never put in more than a average of $20-25 a month during their working contribution years.
A $40 a month stipend to current Seniors actually doubles the average contribution of these people which is a fair return on their low contributions.

    • Tekken Champ, go for it. All you have to do is change the law or get Obama to deem it and it’s done. But let me tell you, my parents contributed a hell of a lot more than $40 than a stipend of $40 a month, and they had no other choice but to do so. Their money went to the care of others. One didn’t live long enough to use much of it, but my Mother had their savings, not SS to live off of because, they like so many of their generation, were responsible. People can’t live on Social Security, and that was never the goal.
