H. R. 226To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow a credit against
tax for surrendering to authorities certain assault weapons.
The bill is in the House Ways and Means Committee. The idea is that if you turn in your weapons, those falsely deemed to be an “assault weapon,” you will receive a federal tax credit.
How ridiculous is this? Liberals don’t own firearms and Conservatives will not turn in their weapons.
Now, I assume this legislation doesn’t have a chance of passing, but let’s consider what happens if it does. How long will it take before it is amended to: if you do not turn in your weapon you will be fined, and eventually, if you do not turn in your weapon you will be imprisoned.
The bill is the work of Congresscritters Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Raul Grijalva (D-AZ)
The bill allows for a $2000 dollar credit for anyone who surrenders a “specified assault weapon to the United States or a State or local government (or political subdivision thereof) as part of a Federal, State, or local public safety program to reduce the number of privately owed weaponâ€
The tax credit will be split between two tax years, the year you surrender the weapon and the subsequent year. The tax is only given if a receipt is given at the time of surrender and is only allowed for one gun from the approved list. Source: Standup and Fight Back
Can you see the GOP, in it’s neutered state today, mulling over the tax credit, and thinking, well if Americans want to give up their weapons in exchange for a tax credit, they should be allowed to do, with no thought to what the bill will eventually, and certainly, morph into. Obama told us the fiscal battle is all about ‘revenue.’ Believe him, and know the first way to assuredly get the revenues he want, is to disarm the people. Remember, when the Kingdom wanted taxation without representation, and the first tea party turned the tide for America, Americans were armed.
Australia was forced to turn in their weapons for some measly compensation known as a “buy back” plan and found that the loss of liberty is being measured by the loss of life. Criminals still have their weapons. The weapons still legal inside a private home must be unloaded and locked up. Handguns are expected to be taken next.
Crime has not been reduced – in fact crime is up, no surprise among those with a tad of common sense:
Armed Robbery up 69%
Assaults with Guns up 28%
Gun Murders up 19%
Home Invasions up 21%
Politicians say they can’t explain the rise in home invasions, because they don’t have a definition for “home invasion†in Australian law. The woman in the video can explain it to them, but then she’s just another unarmed citizen, not worthy of possessing the right to protect herself:

The question is not why home invasions are up. The question is who in their freaking mind wouldn’t know that private property and lives are at stake when the whole country is unarmed.
Police undermanned, and moral at record lows.
Citizens in the video send a warning to Americans:

◠Don’t trust your politicians.

â— Be a member at your local gun club
â— Be a partner with the NRA
â— Never, never, ever give up your freedoms.
â— If you think you have rights, tomorrow the government can take them away from you.
◠[In Australia] We don’t have a chance in hell of getting our rights back.

Unreal. It actually says “surrender” and it actually says “to authorities” and it actually says the purpose of the bill is to assist in
“reducing the number of privately-owned weapons”, i. e. disarming the public. On the other hand,hilariously, it only gives you credit for turning in one weapon! Well, I guess if you’ve got ten and you turn in one, that’s a reduction.
bobmontgomery, you read it correctly, and indeed it uses the “surrender” word. This is what they want – complete and total.
