Hostage Update: Texan Feared Dead – 4 Unknown: Demands to Release Blind Sheik

In reports out of the UK, at least four Americans are unaccounted for after an al-Qaeda raid on a Algerian oil field operated by BP Oil. It is believed seven Americans were originally held hostage. Two of the four have been offered up as an exchange for the Blind Sheik, the mastermind behind the first World Trade Center bombing. This will become an old story in a short amount of time, as the whole of al-Qaeda has decided the more Americans they hold across the globe, the better the chance of getting Abdel-Rachman (Blind Sheik) back home. An unnamed Texas man is believed (but not confirmed) to be dead. Mr. Obama, the pressure is on. I suggest Americans in Muslim countries come on back home. UPDATE 3:40 pm CST: Fox News has just confirmed that Frederick Buttaccio, a resident of Texas has died. No other details available. UPDATE 6 pm CST: Mr. Buttaccio reportedly died of a heart attack at the time of the al-Qaeda attack.

If this report summary is correct, five Americans escaped the Algerian al-Qaeda raid at Amenas, Algeria. At least two are believed to be on UK soil.  The photo above is believed to be the al-Qaeda leader responsible for the attack.

The Algerian military, through air power, attempted to “wipe out the al-Qaeda” raiders yesterday. The operation was carried out without the help of the U.S. or U.K. and reportedly left many dead – “as many as 35 of the 41 hostages and 15 kidnappers are killed….”

This minute, Fox News is reporting 32 hostages of numerous nationalities remain unaccounted for.

The pay is extraordinary for those taking the huge risks to work in oil fields in these dangerous areas – areas that are really pulsing killing fields, just waiting for the next attack. BP Oil operates this one. Repeating: Hey y’all, come on back to your life in America. You have a target on your back. Stop putting your home country in a position to be blackmailed. Please.

Yup time to come home, guys.

Someday, God willing, we’ll have again have a President with enough guts to say, “Perdicarius Alive, or Rasuli dead” and send the fleet to make it so, but not in the next 4 years.

I wonder how fast it will take Obama to sign the pardon for the Blind Sheik? Any takers on a bet?
