The Algerian Prime Minister is alleging two Canadians, including one who is blonde-haired and blue-eyed (or perhaps green), is among the Islamists attacking the British Petroleum (BP) natural gas plant. A French “jihadist” is also implicated. It is unknown whether the three are among the dead attackers. JihadWatch is reporting “moderate” Islamists were hired at the plant, thinking they would not have a problems with working for Westerners. Oh contraire, evidentally. No checks were made to verify the moderation of the Islamist workers (hilarious on the face of it, isn’t it – “moderate Islamist?”). When will people wake up? To check into one’s extremist tendicies is to be “Islamophobic. New jihadists warnings have been issued to all Westerners and particularly to the French. Being reported just this minute on Fox, Libyan weapons were used in that attack, and it’s suspect that al-Qaeda entered Algeria from three camps inside Libya. Reminder that after Muammar Gaddafi’s fall, his weapons stash was raided by those seeking democracy (sarc).
A French jihadist, previously unknown to authorities, and two Canadians are suspected to have been involved in the hostage-taking, and reports also claim that a man with a Western accent was among the extremists who lured terrified gas workers from their rooms during the hostage crisis.
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal told reporters that a man, judged “by his English accent” to have been Canadian, was among the 32 Islamists whose raid on the Algerian refinery prompted a global crisis. One of the Canadians, identified only as “Shaddad”, is alleged to have played a leading role in the attack which left 58 hostages – including 37 Westerners – dead after a four-day battle with Algerian forces. Five further Western workers are still unaccounted for. “A Canadian was among the militants,” Mr Sellal said. “He was co-ordinating the attack.”…
The Algerian authorities have declined to confirm whether the alleged Canadian co-ordinator was among the 29 militants who died.
One of the hostage takers was a North American who took part in the killing of numerous Japanese workers, the AFP agency reported. An Algerian employee of a Japanese engineering firm working at the site, identified as Riad said the Islamist attackers shot three Japanese who were in a bus, then went straight to the rooms occupied by the Japanese.
The hostage-taking at a remote Algerian gas plant was carried out by 30 militants from across the northern swath of Africa and two from Canada, authorities said. The militants, who wore military uniforms and knew the layout, included explosives experts who rigged it with bombs and a leader whose final order was to kill all the captives.
The operation also had help with inside knowledge, a former driver at the plant, Algeria’s Prime Minister said yesterday….
“You may have heard the last words of the terrorist chief,” Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal told presspersons. “He gave the order for all the foreigners to be killed, so there was a mass execution, many hostages were killed by a bullet to the head.”
In a statement, the Masked Brigade said: “We stress to our Muslim brothers the necessity to stay away from all the Western companies and complexes for their own safety, and especially the French ones,”
