They’ve worn us down. We will have illegal alien reform. After all, we must do something, right? Senator Marco Rubio makes so much sense as he lays out the Republican plan, glowlingly endorsed by John McCain. My question is, why is Congress not closing the border, securing the border, building the fence…all that, and then coming to We The People, proving what they have done and then writing legislation? Why the promise that will not be kept first? Our government is broken. According to an Inspector General’s report, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) identified “850,000 individuals as deportable and believed to be in the United States,” under the leadership of Alejandro Mayorkas. They are now lost within the system. Some are working for TSA and in other sensitive areas, receiving food stamps, housing, education grants, drivers licenses and some are undoubtedly voting. Mayorkas, the man overseeing “lawful immigration” (USCIS) is the same man who handled Bill Clinton’s pardon of a convicted major drug trafficker – after Senator Hillary Clinton received $200,000 from the drug trafficker’s father (who was also a suspected drug trafficker). That’s how those entrusted with our welfare and safety play with our lives, while trying to disarm us. Barack Obama could hardly wait to appoint Mayorkas to the important position of supposedly keeping illegals out of this country. He did so in 2009 and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
Mayorkas is believed to be a close ally to former deputy attorney general Eric Holder, who is a leading candidate to become Attorney General in the Obama administration. Holder is believed to have pressed Obama to put Mayorkas in his current transition position.
“We didn’t know about his role in Pardongate,” says a current Obama aide working on the transition. “Holder never told us. Alejandro came highly recommended; many of us knew him or of him.” American Spectator November 2008
So clearly, November 17, 2008 is after Obama’s election. Alejandro Mayorkas was put into the post anyway.
Have your heard of the “SAVE” program? SAVE is the acronym for Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program. The independent Inspector General for the Department of Homeland Security issued a report on “improvements need” for SAVE:
Our random statistical sample tests of individuals who had been ordered deported but still remained n the United States identified a 12 percent error rate in immigration status verification. In other words, these individuals had no status, but were erroneously identified as having lawful immigration status.
The remaining 88 percent passed our tests because the individuals had lawful immigration status at the time of status verification. This includes situations where the individual (1) was ordered deported after the verification or (2) obtained permanent or temporary status after being ordered deported but before the status verification. Benefits for which individuals were verified ranged from airport badges and Transportation Worker Identification Cards, which provide individuals with access to secure areas, to food stamps, driver’s licenses, and education assistance. Some individuals included in our sample had committed felonies ranging from citizenship fraud to aggravated assault. Source: Office of the Inspector General
…one in eight foreigners who have been ordered deported—including serious criminals—subsequently get approved by the government to collect public benefits while they live in the country illegally.
This is yet another one of those sad, only in America stories. The very government that boots an illegal immigrant out of the country later clears the violator to receive taxpayer-funded benefits. In some cases the illegal aliens have been convicted of serious crimes like child abuse, assault with a deadly weapon and drug-related offenses yet Uncle Sam rewards them with free health insurance (Medicaid) and food stamps.
The JudicialWatch linked above also refers to the Inspector General’s report. If I understand the following correctly, a Bill Clinton appointee of a federal prosecutor, pardoned Carlos Vignali, a convicted drug trafficker, then was forced to resign. The man’s name is Alejandro Mayorkas. Obama “handpicked” Mayorkas to head the Homeland Security Department that oversees “lawful immigration,” otherwise known as the Director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
…the Homeland Security agency in charge of keeping track of foreigners, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) isn’t doing its job. The agency is headed by Alejandro Mayorkas, a Clinton federal prosecutor who resigned in shame after orchestrating the pardon of a major league drug trafficker from Argentina serving a 15-year sentence.
Incredibly, President Obama handpicked Mayorkas to head the Homeland Security agency responsible for overseeing lawful immigration to the United States. Turns out his agency is using an outdated and inept system to keep track of foreigners who have been ordered removed. The government estimates that there are about 800,000 illegal immigrants in the U.S. who have ignored deportation orders.
The convicted drug dealer mention above, Carlos Vignali, has a father suspected of drug trafficking as well. Horacio Vignali, is a wealthy L.A. businessman, according to Politico. He gave $200,000 to Hillary Clinton’s brother, Hugh Rodham, and guess what…Carlos Vignali was pardoned by Bill Clinton. The man who orchestrated that pardon is the “overseer” of “lawful immigration.”
Remember infamous “Madam” Heidi Fleiss? Ms. Fleiss is quoted in The Washington Post saying Mayorkas is “so personable and sweet….” The article goes on to praise him!
Attorney Alejandro Mayorkas. Currently a partner at O’Melveny & Myers, he served as U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California from 1998-2001. Mayorkas gained notoriety for his advocacy as U.S. Attorney for the pardon of convicted drug dealer Carlos Vignali. Vignali’s father, Horacio, paid out almost a quarter million dollars to various California officials, as well as to Clinton brother-in-law Hugh Rodham, to gain the pardon for his son.
Alejandro Mayorkas is responsible for both pardoning and now, losing, 800,000+ deportable illegal aliens.
With all due respect to those in Congress trying to thoughtfully solve the problem of illegal alien reform (identified by them as immigration reform – subversively incorrect), secure the border first. Forget the legislation. Do your job, close our borders, prove it to us and then write legislation for the procedure under which those here illegally will be allowed to obtain the right to stay here and eventually gain citizenship.
