The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that Hobby Lobby’s owners, the David Green Family, must pay the ObamaCare fine of $1.3 Million PER DAY, beginning January 1, 2013 if they refuse to provide the Morning After Pill (Plan B in the U.S.) and The Abortion Pill (RU-486 in Europe and Mifeprex in the U.S.). Both are considered “abortifacients.” The Green Family provides insurance to eligible employees and will meet all requirements of ObamaCare, with the exception of providing abortifacients.
After the Tenth Circuit Court decision ruled that the Green’s do not have the right to their well-known, long-held and mainstream religious belief that every human life is precious and should be protected, Hobby Lobby appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court for an emergency injunction, which Catholic U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor declared was not an emergency at all, and refused to grant temporary relief for the Company during the Appeals process.
“Yet, as Laura Ingraham pointed out, in a previous case Sotomayor ruled for a Muslim inmate who was denied Ramadan meals. In Ford v. McGinnis, 352 F.3d 582 (2d Cir. 2003), Sotomayor wrote an opinion that reversed a district court decision holding that a Muslim inmate’s First Amendment rights had not been violated because the holiday feast that he was denied was not a mandatory one in Islam. Sotomayor held that the inmate’s First Amendment’s rights were violated because the feast was subjectively important to the inmate’s practice of Islam.“
The war on Christians rages on. An imprisoned Muslim can disrupt the prison order with a meal he feels he deserves, while Hobby Lobby is forced to disrupt the life of a child and be complicit in the act of murder, or pay the fine of $1.3 MILLION PER DAY. My guess is, no matter what happens, Hobby Lobby will NEVER comply with this barbaric law.
“We’re Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I’ve always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God’s laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that’s what we’ve tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week’s biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest. We believe that it is by God’s grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We’ve not only added jobs in a weak economy, we’ve raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage. ” David Green  (December 1, 2012)
The David Green Family also owns Mardel Christian and Education Book store, with about 35 stores located in 7 states. Hobby Lobby operates in 41 states. Think about it: $1.3 MILLION PER DAY. See a Hobby Lobby video response here. More at Human Events. Photo Credit: Family Security Matters
