This morning Florida Democrat Patrick Murphy claimed victory over Congressman Allen West (R) in Florida’s District 18. Â With all votes in, it seems Murphy has almost a 2,500 vote lead, about a 50.4% to 49.6%. West has not conceded and a recount may be underway. See UPDATEs below.

In a statement today, West campaign manager Tim Edson said that the race was not over.

He added: “We will continue to fight to ensure every vote is counted properly and fairly, and accordingly will pursue all legal means necessary.”
Murphy declared victory early Wednesday morning in a statement.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support from the voters of the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches,†Murphy said in a statement declaring victory. “I pledge to be a representative who will work across the aisle, listen to all points of views, and work to end the divisiveness in Congress. UPDATE 3:50 pm CST: West has demanded a recount, and earlier said a “county election supervisor was trying to rig the election.”
I am reminded of Norm Coleman, only with less class. Concede already.
daChipster, I’m not so sure. Maybe a recount is in order. It certainly was in Al Franken’s case but there was no way to beat the corruption. Sad.
Allen West can now be free to go out into the Private-Sector he claims to love so much, earning a living by working to earn his pay.
The future of the Repub party if its wants to win elections NATIONALLY IS NOT trying to kiss up the blacks or mexicans, etc.. and get some black of hispanic poster child candidate, because you have to be utterly clueless, old and lame to think this could ever work.
The Repubs to win, have to cater to actual working class needs and build a platform that does not rake in millions of donations at each fund-raiser from fat cat trade scammers, but instead rakes in millions of votes from working class whites who are actually being served by the party.
The current repubs want to win while taking the cash and platform postitions of foreign companies, and foreign countries and that wont work anymore.
My guess is he will probably get a job on FOX spouting their nonsense to those who cant use reason effectively.
Everyone who claimed that Romney was going to win, “the polls were all fixed / MSM lied about the polls / the polls oversampled democrats” should be kicked out on their backside into the street and told to get a job at McDonalds since they are now disproven and failures.
