Univision Wife Appointed US Rep to UN Gen Assembly: Cheryl Saban No Diplomatic Experience – Other Appointment Rumors

Cheryl Saban is the wife of Haim Saban, the owner of Univision, the most watched Spanish language network. The appointment by Obama comes in the lead-up to a general election that could yield up to 11 Million Hispanic voters. Mrs. Saban is nominated for  the position of U.S. Representative to the U.N. General Assembly. According to the Miami Herald, Obama made the appointment on Wednesday of last week, the day before he was humiliated in a Univision interview about Fast and Furious – when the cheeky interviewer had the nerve to ask if Attorney General Eric Holder should lose his job over gun running and straw walking weapons into Mexico. Obama infamously declared that Fast and Furious did not start on his watch (a lie, and the Obama administration didn’t bother notifying Mexican authorities as did the Bush administration under Operation Wide Receiver).  That little bit of fiction got 3 Pinnochio’s from the Washington Post. In the same interview Obama declared “you can’t change Washington D.C. from the inside.”

Cheryl Saban reportedly has no diplomatic experience her husband Haim Saban is the 104th richest man in the world according to Forbes, and is a big Democrat donor. The couple live in California. He is an Egyptian-born Israeli.

What does a U.S. Representative to the U.N. General Assembly do, you might ask (I did)?

RedAlert has a somewhat different story, placing the appointment as two weeks after Obama’s Univision interview, which could refer to the paperwork making it to the Senate for confirmation, expected to happen quickly – this week, if anyone is still left in Washington, D.C.

With this appointment, President Obama is making a rather conspicuous attempt at capturing Univision’s support, one which I believe should be exposed as the political maneuver it clearly is. I have no doubt that Cheryl Saban is a talented and intelligent woman, but she would have to be very naive not to see the reason the Obama administration is interested in bringing her aboard.

Making a power grab for Univision’s media support is a bold move by the Obama administration, and precisely the kind of backroom deal President Obama promised not to engage in when he first ran for president in 2008.

This move stands as more proof that Obama is worse than “just talk;” he is actively working against the very principles he held as being vital toward building a better America. I guess we can add another notch to Obama’s failure belt, right next to record unemployment, being unable to keep our embassies and citizens safe overseas, trillions of dollars of debt, a decaying currency, and astronomical gas prices. How this man has an approval rating above ten percent is a tough one to figure out. Source: RedAlert

Maybe it’s a silly rumor but I hear if Obama wins four more years in the White House, he has promised Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn dual positions as US Representatives to the UN Homeland Security mission, working in concert with Janet Napolitano, and Professor Rashid Khalidi (Columbia University) as U.S. Representative to the UN Palestinian Delegation serving as Special Rapporteur. Four more years is all he needs to accomplish so much – maybe an additional 30 years. • Am I missing the tweet button? This needs to get out.

    • Opus, yes. I’m working with Twitter on it. It stopped using bit.ly then disappeared. I should be hearing something today. So sorry!
