Detroit Police: Detroit War Like – Too Dangerous for Citizens Visitors: Enter At Your Own Risk

How sad is this? The Detroit Police Department held a rally on Saturday, October 6th, 2012: “Enter at Your Own Risk” 2012. They want “citizens to know” the city is “too dangerous to enter.” Officers are overworked, “understaffed and at times fearful for their lives.”

Detroit – War Like City, Too Dangerous to Enter

“Detroit is America’s most violent city, its homicide rate is the highest in the country and yet the Detroit Police Department is grossly understaffed,” Iorio told WWJ’s Kathryn Larson. “The DPOA believes that there is a war in Detroit, but there should be a war on crime, not a war on its officers.”

Officers are leaving simply because they can’t afford to stay in Detroit and work 12 hour shifts for what they are getting paid… These police officers are beyond demoralized, these officers are leaving hand over fist because they can no longer afford to stay on the department and protect the public,” he said.

“The explosion in violent crime, the incredible spike in the number of homicides and for officers trying to work 12 hours in such deplorable, dangerous and war like conditions is simple untenable,” he said. Source: Detroit.cbslocal

Detroit hasn’t had a Republican Mayor since January 1962.

  • Years ago when Mr. AOW was a coin dealer, there was an annual coin convention held in Detroit — the biggest coin convention held in the United States and a sort of World Series kind of coin convention. Almost all the coin dealers who we personally knew at that time refused to attend. Many who DID attend were robbed!

  • This is what happens when you allow liberals to have free reign of a city or state. I wonder how many more “Detroits” we have in our future.

  • Back in the 80’s, I was stationed in Michigan. Knew a Detroit city cop who used to come up North to vacation with his family. He said that there are areas of Detroit the cops won’t go in unless they’re in large numbers. He said if you’re in there and in trouble, you’re on your own. You want to get a perfect idea of what Detroit is like, see the movie Four Brothers.
