David Siegel Westgate Resorts: New Taxes on My Business and I Reduce Employees: Employees 7000 – Shades of Steve Wynn

A letter from David Siegel, the CEO of Westgate Resorts puts 7,000 employees on notice: if Obama is reelected, and new taxes come my way, some of you will lose jobs, benefits and opportunities. I suggest every employer copy Siegel’s letter and get it to their employees pronto. See the second quote from him below. It’s the meat of the quite long letter. Speaking of meat, it looks like Steve Wynn got off the Democrat lunch wagon and likes red meat after all.

David Siegel

It’s quite simple. If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company. Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone…

Now, the economy is falling apart and people like me who made all the right decisions and invested in themselves are being forced to bail out all the people who didn’t. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed 42 years of my life for. Yes, business ownership has its benefits, but the price I’ve paid is steep and not without wounds. Unfortunately, the costs of running a business have gotten out of control, and let me tell you why: We are being taxed to death and the government thinks we don’t pay enough. We pay state taxes, federal taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, payroll taxes, workers compensation taxes and unemployment taxes. I even have to hire an entire department to manage all these taxes. The question I have is this: Who is really stimulating the economy? Is it the Government that wants to take money from those who have earned it and give it to those who have not, or is it people like me who built a company out of his garage and directly employs over 7000 people and hosts over 3 million people per year with a great vacation? Remember casino-mogul, Steve Wynn, a long-time Democrat and Harry Reid supporter who apparently sat by and watched Reid bus casino workers to the polls, after he, Wynn, voted for Obama in 2008? A year and a half ago, in an interview with Business Insider, Wynn uses the word ‘frightened’ three times, ‘afraid’ twice, ‘fear’ twice, ‘frightened to death twice and ‘redistribution twice.

A President that seems, that keeps using that word redistribution.…And it makes you slow down and not invest your money…And those of us who have business opportunities and the capital to do it are going to sit in fear of the President. And a lot of people don’t want to say that.

They’ll say, God, don’t be attacking Obama. Well, this is Obama’s deal and it’s Obama that’s responsible for this fear in America.

Today it appears Wynn has been a major contributor to Republican Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS:

Unlike its sister group, American Crossroads, Crossroads GPS was organized as a 501-C4 advocacy group and doesn’t have to disclose its donors. But sources tell Politico Wynn has contributed millions to the effort and was the group’s single biggest donor as of earlier this year—a relationship based in part on his close friendship with Rove

If Obama is reelected and ObamaCare is not repealed, your chance of being in the same position as Siegel’s employees is 100%.
