Apologies

Hi everyone, if you’ve noticed I have not posted for two weeks, you’ve likely been treated to posts by my friend and fellow blogger, findalis at Monkey in the Middle. I decided to do some planting on a very windy day, tried to grab for something falling off of a Baker’s Rack and ended up with a lower back injury, and a few days later a pinched nerve in my neck. My back is much better. My neck is still uncomfortable. So….I’m taking another two weeks or so to recoup.

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR CURRENT POSTINGS

I haven’t kept up with the news much, but in the past couple of weeks the most maddening Obama outrage, to me, has been a draft proposal of a Presidential Executive Order requiring all company’s bidding for a Government contract to disclose their political donations. Obama’s own strategy of domestic terrorism. If your company bids for Government contracts, who will you donate to? Not to Republican candidates if you want to win the bid.

Jonah Goldberg – Liberal Facism (food for thought):

Fascism, at its core, is the view that every nook and cranny of society should work together in spiritual union toward the same goals overseen by the state. “Everything in the state, nothing outside the state,” is how Mussolini defined it. Mussolini coined the word “totalitarian” to describe not a tyrannical society but a humane one in which everyone is taken care of and contributes equally. — P.80

Today, liberals remember the progressives as do-gooders who cleaned up the food supply and agitated for a more generous social welfare state and better working conditions. Fine, the progressives did that. But so did the Nazis and the Italian Fascists. And they did it for the same reasons and in loyalty to roughly the same principles. — P.81

…What distinguished Nazism was that it forthrightly included a worldview we now associate almost completely with the political left: identity politics. This was what distinguished Nazism from doctrinaire communism, and it seems hard to argue the marriage of one leftist vision to another can somehow produce right-wing progeny. If this was how the world worked, we would have to label nationalist-socialist organizations like the PLO and Cuban Communist Party right-wing. — P.73 (Thanks to John Hawkins at Right Wing News)

Friends may or may not be posting here in my continued absence. Please scroll down for possible recent posts, and please accept my apology for disappearing so abruptly. I look forward to returning renewed and refreshed. See you then.

  • I hope that your back will get better soon! By the way, thanks for sharing this interesting definition. I’ve already read about that, it is really interesting, it was a progressive movement in the early 1900’s which was called dadaism and futurism, and also the artist Picasso stand close to them.

Admitting when you’re wrong can be one of the most difficult things you’ll ever have to do. But despite the difficulty, it’s important to let the person whom you’ve hurt or offended know that you are sorry…and sincerely sorry at that

    • Do you know what you are talking about? Hello!!!! Evidently not, no one is wrong, they are only down in their back. Oh forget it, if you don’t understand, far be from me to try to explain. ROFL

  • Maggie, I’m so glad to see your byline. I’ve been coming by and reading findalis’ excellent posts, and was hoping you were taking a much-deserved vacation. I’m so sorry to hear about your back and neck; those are no fun to have and can take a good amount of time to heal. A few years ago I pulled something in my lower back pushing a dead rototiller up onto a trailer and ended up with a pinched sciatic nerve. Worst pain and most discomfort I’ve ever had. No comfortable position. Took a while, but it’s all gone now. Lots of ice, several times a day will help with the inflammation. Don’t let anyone tell you that ice is only effective the first 24 hours of an injury. Not true.

I pray you feel better soon, and take a good rest while you’re at it.

    • Pup, I just found this. Every day I’m trying to catch up with comments. I appreciate them so, and also appreciate how much everyone enjoyed findalis’ work. Thanks so much.

“Pushing a dead rotweiller???” Oh, I see, a rototiller – LOL!
