Keith Olbermann: Smelly Limo Driver, Limo Driver Dared to Speak to Him,

Keith Olbermann was fired for many reasons according to the New York Post. Top on the list was his discontent with the Limo services provided to him. He refused to sign the vouchers after each ride to enable reimbursement for the services. Limo drivers who had the temerity to speak to him made him furious. One Limo driver was “smelly.” He didn’t like the $250,000 set he anchored from, although he had input into the design. Al Gore was his boss. What a hoot. Two gas bags going at each other. Read the story here. Read the original story of his firing here. If you are one of the twelve who watch Current TV, you’ve already been treated to disgraced, former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, gratefully perched on Olbermann’s set.

Don’t you just LOVE reading how these Right-Wingers -bless their happy little souls- are havin’ a ball, …gloating, ….and trying to smear Keith? Taxi drivers? Is that the worse you have? NEWS FLASH: NOBODY likes taxi- drivers! Hey guys, chill out , and just take some more Viagra! The real question we should be asking is : Did CurrentTV simply USE Keith to gain attention and higher ratings? They KNEW what they were getting! Did they lure him with big bucks, and then drop him when they were done? Yes, we all know that Keith injects emotion and passion into his commentary, into his intelligent and incisive reporting, and into his humor….all of which makes his program interesting, as well as informative. He’s forceful, honest, and direct: you FEEL his pain, you FEEL his anger, and you FEEL his heart-felt sincerity when he covers a story. And he covers it well. He’s NEVER just another talking head! If Keith is absent from CurrentTV, then I too will be absent from CurrentTV. For Keith is one of the best – hands down- as evidenced by his outstanding coverage of OWS during the past year. I wish him well, and hope that he is back on the air soon. We need his unique voice and viewpoint!

I don’t agree that Olberman is far left. At least I’ve seen no evidence to suggest it. He is a liberal, to be sure, but I personally know many people on the “far” left, self-declared Communists, and Olberman’s public person is no where near the politics of these people. In fact, none of the people that are typically referred to as “far left” in the media are actually that far from center (based on their public behavior, anyway).
