The Huffington Post headlined today: Zsa Zsa Gabor Dies and then links to the real story. If Zsa Zsa is dead, no one else is saying so at this time. It’s an old blogging trick. When Zsa Zsa does dies, maybe HuffPo’s headline will be indexed first on search engines. But there is Zsa Zsa news. Her daughter, Constance Francesca Hilton is asking a court for conservatorship of her mother, and if the judge will not agree to Francesca being in charge, then an independent conservator. Ms. Hilton has no warm and fuzzy feeling for Zsa Zsa’s current husband, Frederic von Anhalt, who is quite a character. Two years ago, Frederic von Anhalt said he wanted to preserve Zsa Zsa’s body by having her plastinated!
Zsa Zsa’s daughter said her step-father keeps her Mother heavily sedated and isolates her from family, against the wishes of Ms. Gabor’s estate planning documents:
By isolating me from my mother, not only does her current husband deprive her of my love and companionship, but he goes against estate planning documents that appear to reflect her wishes that he not be in sole control of her affairs,” Hilton wrote in a declaration accompanying her petition.
Hilton is asking the court to appoint her as Gabor’s conservator, although her attorney, Kenneth Kossoff, said they would be willing to have an independent third party handle all oversight duties.
Hilton and von Anhalt have squabbled for years over Gabor’s care. Von Anhalt blasted Hilton in a phone interview, saying his wife is comfortable and that he cares for her every night.
“It’s probably her last card she’s playing now,” he said of Hilton. “It’s all about money. She’s afraid, her mother passing away eventually, and there’s nothing.”
Kossoff denied the accusation, noting that the establishment of a conservatorship would require a judge to review Gabor’s finances and make sure all money is “being spent in her best interests. Source: Huffington Post
Gabor turned 95 in February. Read about her birthday party here, presumably sans daughter.
Some info from my previous post at the old Maggie’s Notebook on the “plastination (which he wants done “in the context of a scene from one her films:”
Von Anhalt is about 68 years old. In his 40’s he was adopted by Princess Marie-Auguste of Anhalt who was the daughter-in-law of Kaiser Wilhelm II. After von Anhalt’s marriage to Zsa Zsa in 1986 they adopted together, “several men.” The “adoptions” grant the men the use of the word “Prince von Anhalt,” or Prinz von Anhalt along whatever other name they use. German newspapers have accused Frederic of “selling” the title he received from Marie-Auguste.
In 2007 Frederic von Anhalt says he was robbed and stripped of all clothing, at gunpoint, by three “attractive” women. He said he was bound and handcuffed, although he called police on a cell phone.
It is not easy to take care of a person as ill as Gabor has been for many years, but she certainly has the money to be well-cared for in her home. In cases like this, the problem is always over-sedation. It’s an easy way to take the bother out of much of the care. I would be very concerned if I suspicioned that my Mother was over-sedated. I would also be very suspicious of any person wanting to have my Mother plastinated!
You might also remember that von Anhalt claimed at he could be the father of now deceased Anna Nicole Smith’s baby. In his dreams, I’m sure. Prayers that the right thing happens for Zsa Zsa.
