Paul Ryan Video: Coming Debt Crisis America Deserves a Better Path

Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) certainly grabs my attention in this intense video announcing the new House Budget for 2013, due for release next week:

Paul Ryan

Transcript from YouTube:

You know, I was here — in Congress — in 2008 when we had the economic crisis. It was a terrible time. Millions of people lost their jobs. Trillions of dollars of wealth: gone.

That crisis caught us by surprise.

Let me ask you a question: what if your President, your Senator and your Congressman knew it was coming? What if they knew when it was going to happen, why it was going to happen and more importantly, what if they knew what they needed to do to stop it from happening and they had the time to stop it? But they chose to do nothing about it, because it wasn’t good politics?

What would you think of that person? It would be immoral.

This coming debt crisis is the most predictable crisis we’ve ever had in this country. And look what’s happening.

This is why we’re acting. This is why we’re leading. This is why we’re proposing – and passing out of the House – a budget to fix this problem: so we can save our country for ourselves and our children’s future.

Paul Ryan is a fourth generation trust fund baby who’s never held a real job. He supported Bush’s Wall Street bailout and he voted eleven times to raise the national debt ceiling. He’s a total poseur like all the Teabaggers.

    • Sara, the bottom line is Paul Ryan had the budget, will have another one, and had the first passed, we would be in a much better place. Democrats haven’t had a budget for years. Republicans have budgets. Republicans have a plan.

Ryan was not a trust fund baby. He lost his father when he was a teenager. He worked as marketing consultant right out of college. He worked as a speech writer (that’s a job you get paid for), and he worked in a family owned business.

We are no longer “back then” when everyone in Congress voted to raise debt limits. I don’t like using the word Teabagger here.
