Carbonite Online Backup’s stock hit it’s lowest 52-week share price this week, dropped 12%, propelling it onto NASDAQ’s list of biggest decliners. Carbonite CEO David Friend pulled advertising after stating that he would wait and talk to Rush first, but he got on a righteous roll, and didn’t allow that courtesy before pulling the plug. He put his own daughters on center stage by mentioning them, and his personal offense at Rush Limbaugh’s perceived “insults” and “abuse” of Sandra Fluke. So fair enough Mr. Friend, but we have noticed that Carbonite remains a sponsor of Ed Schultz. It’s time for some sunshine. Attorney and blogger William Jacobson is giving the blogosphere the opportunity to hold you accountable for your stated righteousness ethics.
We do not seek to hold Carbonite accountable to standards of advertising we impose on Carbonite.
Rather, we will seek to hold Carbonite accountable to its own announced standards of not advertising on programs or in venues (including websites) which have engaged in personal attacks or uncivilized discourse.
This is a sunshine project, not a boycott. Whether a consumer chooses to use Carbonite or a publisher accepts advertising from Carbonite is not a concern of this project. Rather, we will document and chronicle whether Carbonite is living up to its own self-imposed standard of fostering only civil discourse.
Please post comments with links, or e-mail screenshots, documenting Carbonite’s advertising practices. [here]

When I cancelled my Carbonite service I asked that a message be given directly to Friend:
As a supporter of Fluke’s groveling for government contraceptive assistance, you are no role model for your own daughters.
Watch the video below and understand who Ed Schultz is, and what he supports. Carbonite has chosen sides rather than allowing Free Speech to work.
UPDATE 2:40 p.m. CDT: WorldNetDaily quoting Rush (read it all here):
“We have three brand-new sponsors that will be starting in the next two weeks,” Limbaugh said this afternoon, adding he was not going to identify them today.
“Two of the sponsors who have canceled have asked to return. We are being very careful about that. I’m not gonna give you any names here. One of them is practically begging to come back.”
