Two American brothers, Carlos and Alberto Cardona, are Obama and Democrat National Committee fundraising bundlers. Their brother, Juan Jose, aka Pepe, is a Mexican “casino magnate” with associated murder south of our border in his profile. Pepe was charged with drug and fraud in the U.S. in 1994. He jumped bail in Iowa and fled back home to Mexico. Now Pepe wants to return to the U.S., and the brother bundlers have asked a former Iowa Democrat Party chairman to seek a pardon from the Iowa Governor on behalf of Pepe. No pardon so far.
The New York Times contacted the Obama campaign about the $200,000 bundled by the brothers. The DNC and the Obama campaign claim to know nothing about Pepe, the family bad seed. The $200,000 has been returned to someone – it was bundled after all, so maybe Alberto and Carlos gave it back to the donors?
The casino owner, Juan Jose Rojas Cardona, known as Pepe, jumped bail in Iowa in 1994 and disappeared, and has since been linked to violence and corruption in Mexico. A State Department cable in 2009 said he was suspected of orchestrating the assassination of a business rival and making illegal campaign donations to Mexican officials.
