Young Adults, Blacks in Large Numbers Least Likely to Support Planned Parenthood Funding

A new poll asks “Should Tax Dollars For Family Planning Go To Organizations That Perform Abortions?” The results will warm your heart: – read the entire story here, including income demographics.

1) 54% opposed

2) 43% opposed “strongly”

3) 26% of pro-choicers opposed giving taxpayer dollars

4) Under the age of 35, 54% opposed

5) 62% of Blacks opposed

One of the saddest days of 2011 for me was when I learned that only 24% 2.4% of Planned Parenthood’s services are non-abortion care, and that includes their adoption service. After PP’s own records revealed that they performed one abortion every 97 seconds, 365 days a year in 2009,  I was stunned to learn that Susan G. Komen for the Cure gave Planned Parenthood $3.3 MILLION in the years 2004 – 2008. In 2009 alone, they gave PP $731,303.

I am a breast cancer survivor – just passed 18 years in December. I’ve donated a large part of my charitable funds to Susan G. Komen over those years. I had no idea SGK gave a dime to Planned Parenthood. Why would they? Maybe because PP offers free mammograms for women? No, that’s not right. PP only says they offer free mammograms. They don’t offer mammograms at all – not anywhere…not in any state. But abortions are plentiful and you and I are funding them.

Planned Parenthood’s speciality is abortion, but in the poll above, carefully worded to state the question accurately, our young people do not want taxpayer funds going to Planned Parenthood. It’s a good thing.
