Louie Gohmert Janet Napolitano: Mohamed Elibiary DHS Adviser Threatens Reporter – Accessed Intelligence Database From Home Computer

Mohamed Elibiary  was sworn in to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Advisory Committee by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. With that swearing in, he gained a “secret” security clearance, and accessed illegally from his home computer, a State and Local Intelligence Community database. He was promoted by Big Sis from the DHS Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Working Group. In the video below, Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) questions Napolitano about what she does and doesn’t know about Elibiary. As it turns out, after this story broke in October, it was found that Elibiary is the only member of the Committee, out of 26, to have access to this database. He is not an official of any state or law enforcement group. Appalling! Find the link below. As an aside, he reportedly threatened a Dallas reporter and said: Treat people as inferiors and you can expect someone to put a banana in your exhaust pipe or something.

Mohamed Elibiary

As it turns out, Napolitano says she did not know that he accessed the State and Local Intelligence Community (SLIC) database from his home. He then allegedly shopped information marked For Official Use Only, about Texas Governor Rick Perry and other Texas officials, to a left-leaning media outlet. Janet knew nada. Below you will find my loose transcript of the video. The part about Elibiary comes at the end of the video, somewhere around the 7 min. mark, but here you will find it up-top, and then the rest of the questioning below. You will find that no matter what Gohmert asked Napolitano, she knew nada about everything.

Before getting to the transcript, Human Events and Pajamas Media has a story on this as well. Here are a couple of snippets that will introduce you to Elibiary, who is still listed on the Homeland Security website as an adviser, but has reportedly now had his “secret” clearance revoked (JihadWatch).

Patrick poole writing at PJ Media:

“Earlier today, I received confirmation from a left-leaning media outlet that Elibiary had recently approached them asking to do a story attacking Texas DPS:”

Yes, he approached us and gave us some reports marked FOUO [For Official Use Only] that he said showed a pattern of Islamophobia at the department. He emphasized that some of the regional fusion centers were shut down a few years ago after the ACLU complained that they were targeting Muslim civil rights groups and said that this was being directed by [Texas Gov.] Rick Perry…

In light of these allegations, I spoke today with Texas DPS Director Steve McCraw. He confirmed that Elibiary has access to the Homeland Security State and Local Intelligence Community of Interest (HS SLIC) database, which contains hundreds of thousands of intelligence reports and products that are intended for intelligence sharing between law enforcement agencies.

“We looked at the reports and they weren’t as he had billed them to us. They seem to be pretty straightforward, nothing remotely resembling Islamophobia that we saw. I think he was hoping we would bite and not give it too much of a look in light of the other media outfits jumping on the Islamophobia bandwagon.”

So, while the “left-leaning media outlet” refused to do the story, they did open the envelope and read the sensitive data from a secure database.

The following is the last conversation between Gohmert and Napolitano, about Elibiary, but read on because the President of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), Imam Mohamed Majid serves on the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Working Group. Find a link about the ISNA in that portion of the transcript, and remember that this is only a loose transcription (although I think you’ll find it very close to accurate).

Note in this exchange that Gohmert asks if someone on her staff said she was briefed about Elibiary accessing a database “last night,” and she says ‘no.’ Can’t help but believe he was told exactly that. There is no other reason to ask that question.

Louie Gohmert

GOHMERT: Are you familiar with Mohamed Elibiary, who was a member of the working group? You promoted him and swore him in as a member of your Homeland Advisory Group. He has apparently been given a secret clearance. Do you know Mr Elibiary?

NAPOLITANO: Yes

GOHMERT: Were you aware he had a secret clearance?

NAPOLITANO: I believe everybody on the Homeland Security Advisory Council ultimately gets a security clearance because they are…

GOHMERT: Were you aware that he spoke at the big event in Texas honoring the Ayatollah Khomeini?

NAPOLITANO: I am not aware of all the places he has spoken.

GOHMERT: Secretary, are you aware that a week ago today he accessed from his home computer, the SLIC [State and Local Intelligence Communication] database, and got information off, and has been shopping a story to National Media on Islamophobia, directed at the Governor of Texas and the security folks there in Texas? Were you aware of that?

NAPOLITANO: No. [chin raise]

GOHMERT: I’m telling you it happened. Do we need to appoint somebody or will you have that investigated yourself, and if so by whom?

NAPOLITANO: Since I don’t know the facts, I’ll have to look into the facts.

GOHMERT: So you’ll be the one to make that call?

NAPOLITANO: It will be myself or someone.

GOHMERT: Does it concern you at all that it happened? Since you seem a little fuzzy on Elibiary, let me make sure you leave here understanding, he was a featured speaker at the Great Islamic Visionary Ayatollah Khomeini, December 11, 2004. You had him on your Countering Violent Extremism Working Group. You promoted him, and from your own website, you swore him in. According to your testimony today, that’s where he got the security clearance.

He has written glowingly of Kutbe* of whom Osama bin Laden relied heavily on for his barbarism justification. He has written against the trial and conviction of the Holy Land Foundation’s funding of terrorism. He has still remained in the DHS Advisory Council. And now he has accessed, a week ago, the State and Local Community database. He took documents that said for Official Use Only and shopped them with national media.

[*Kutbe, I believe is an Islamic sect or ideology, named after Sayyadi Kutbe, but I’m not certain. Whatever it is, I may not be spelling it correctly.]

GOHMERT CONTINUES: It appears that not only is our security being compromised – a secure system, but he’s using it to help his friend politically, the President.

I’ve got one question, and it’s not a gotcha question. There’s nothing confusing about it.

GOHMERT: Before you came in here today were you given information about Elibiary using the State and Local Intelligence Community database and taking information he downloaded and shopping the media?

NAPOLITANO: No.

GOHMERT: If anyone from Homeland Security, your staff, advised anyone else that you were briefed last night, they would be wrong. Is that correct?

[There is about at least a 2 second delay before she answers and this photo is a screen shot of that moment – and she is not looking at Gohmert]

Janet Napolitano

NAPOLITANO: Yes.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following is the dialog at the beginning of the video, leading up to the Elibiary conversation:
GOHMERT: Did you give any guidance to Obama before he told Egypt’s Dictator Hosni Mubarak to leave office?
NAPOLITANO: No – not to MY knowledge.
GOHMERT: Did Obama get information or guidance from DHS before making the decision to pull troops out of Iraq or Afghanistan?
NAPOLITANO: No, it’s not in the purview DHS.
GOHMERT: Quoting Admiral Mullen (paraphrased) ‘we have millions of people coming into this country every year, illegally, to get health care and leaving without paying – an ongoing problem.’ Now we know some Americans will not get health care as quickly as they need because it appears we are moving to rationed care, so it should be an important issue.
We have inquired of the State Department about the applications for Visas. They tell us there is no provision on the application that indicates whether there is any kind of diagnosis – heart problems, cancer, pregnancy, or needed surgeries on the Visa application. These are not considered. We are also told that even though the spouses name is on the application, they do not check the spouse’s name against a terror watch list.
Do you think that would be a good idea to check the spouse’s name on the terrorist watch list?
NAPOLITANO: I cannot answer because I haven’t seen how the State Department responded.
GOHMERT: That isn’t the question. The question is, is it a good idea to check the spouses name against the terrorist watch list?
NAPOLITANO: What we have been able to do is unify databases, unify search engines in such a way that those kinds of security checks can be more easily done.
GOHMERT: If they don’t do the checks, it’s a problem, isn’t it?
NAPOLITANO: It could be a problem.
GOHMERT: Do you make the final decision of who is put on your Countering Violent Extremism Work Group (CVE)?
NAPOLITANO: We have an individual in the Department who is the lead on CVE.
GOHMERT: Are you consulted at all on who is put on that group?
NAPOLITANO: I have not been. No.
GOHMERT: You are aware that the president of ISNA, Iman Magid [Mohamed Magid] is a member of that working group, right?
NAPOLITANO: I can’t say whether that is an accurate statement or not.
GOHMERT: You can look at your own website and find the documentation. He has been on your working group, Countering Violent Extremism.
Do you know how many members of your Countering Violent Extremism are members of the Muslim Brotherhood?
NAPOLITANO: Again, I’m not involved in that appointment…
GOHMERT: Are you familiar with Mohamed Elibiary [founder of Lone Star Intelligence, LLC], who was a member of the working group? You promoted him and swore him in as a member of your Homeland Advisory Group. He has apparently been given a secret clearance. Do you know Mr Elibiary?
Janet Napolitano
NAPOLITANO: Yes.
UPDATE: Since we’re talking about security, you might want to think about the security of your children. Grumpy Opinions has thoughts on how information about them might be hacked, simply by our Government taking no initiative to protect them.
  • This is all part of the lying, alien, un-documented, African born Communist Muslim traitor who inhabits the White House … and his war on America.
    • Carl, I share your angst:-)
      • Me too Maggie, this group like Napolitano, Kagan, Holder, Jarrett just to name a few that does Obama’s bidding,(lying) among other things, are giving our secrets away left and right. It’s all a conspiracy to destroy the foundation of our country. Don’t believe a word that dike Napolitano says, she is as evil as they come. Playing innocent,huh? Give us a break her skin is so thin you can see right through it, of course she knew. How true Bunkerville, “it’s getting old.”
  • This is really getting old. The sad part is that it is no longer a stunner.But that is the intention, overwhelm the system, scatter us in our focus. Indeed, game on.
  • Subversive or incompetent? Probably both!
  • Kutbe is, I believe, a misspelled reference to Qutb, as in Sayyid Qutb, the Muslim Brotherhood member who was known for his hatred of the US, and his role in moving the Brotherhood toward violence.
    Incidentally, the wikipedia page under his name is a great example of whitewash.
  • With another Mohammed in tow at the White House, you can be sure we’re stepping deeper and deeper into it. We either flush them out of the White House, or they’ll flush us into a totalitarian state faster that you can wipe gawking from your face.
  • can i get this post at my network blog?
