Syracuse University Assistant Basketball Coach Bernie Fine was fired today…just a few years late. Bobby Davis, now 39 years old, alleges he was sexually molested by Bernie Fine as a teenager. In 2002 Davis says he taped Fine’s wife admitting as much – and admitting that Davis wasn’t her husband’s only victim. Davis gave the audio to ESPN in 2003. The sports studs at that wicked institution did not report the tape to the police and held it for 9 years. Why? Because no one besides Bernie Fine’s wife would corroborate Davis’ story. Get that…NO ONE other Fine’s wife. Good grief! So, ESPN is the “decider” of who is a child sexual predator and who isn’t? As thougt it was up to them to verify Laurie Fine’s voice. Davis claims Mrs. Fine even saw the abuse happen through a basement window – but her admission wasn’t enough for ESPN to go to the police. Here’s the other kicker: Bobby Davis and Laurie Fine had an affair when Davis was 18 – and both of the Fines are reportedly heavily involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse. Hear the audio below.
Davis claims he taped a phone call with Laurie Fine in 2002, in which the two discuss the alleged abuse. Davis, now 39 years old, claims Laurie Fine saw her husband abuse him through a basement window.
In the recording, ESPN says Laurie Fine can be heard saying “I know everything that went on with him…Bernie has issues, maybe that he’s not aware of, but he has issues… and you trusted someone you shouldn’t have.”
Davis goes on to ask her, “Do you think I’m the only one that he’s ever done that to?”
This article dated November 18th at Fan Daily goes into more detail about Laurie Fine and Bobby Davis. Davis claims he was molested in 1984 when he was in 7th grade. Both Bernie and Laurie Fine are heavily involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse.
Obviously, the Fines are innocent until proven guilty, but ESPN should be reviled by the public and lose sponsors like a two month old Christmas tree loses needles.
