For readers who are not bloggers, I can’t begin to explain how exciting it is to see your blog’s visitor counter hit the 1 million mark. We kinda/sorta celebrate back and forth with each other when that happens. This week it happened for one of the pithiest bloggers around, Bob Belvedere, the humble dispatcher at The Camp of the Saints (TCOTS). He has other names he is known by, but I’ll let you discover them under his ‘About’ menu. If you are not familiar with TCOTS, browse around for a while. So much good information there in the menus under his banner, as well as his always timely, and spot-on daily posts.
And then…there are the Rule 5s. Bob Belvedere is the Rule 5 Master. He graciously led me through the wily-ways of Rule Fiving – and this girl desperately needed help. Not once – not even one time, has he laughed at, or derided, my generally anemic choices (when compared to his). And I thank him for that, and for his encouragement.
The Camp of the Saints is generally a political blog and Rule 5s can be exceptionally political these days. I see that Scarlett Johansson is in the news and being dreadfully political. Give it a read and remind yourself that elections are less than a year away and there are others out there, adored around the world for their ‘attributes,’ who hold the same opinions as Scarlett. Scary stuff.

Your rule 5 ladies are often more dignified than some of the overly buxom or underclad gals some of the men post. But hey, I don’t see anything wrong with that, being a lady blogger myself. Great idea to give Bob a shoutout. He deserves it.
