The Air Force Academy has agreed to modify Operation Christmas Child, and it has apologized for attempting to send Christmas shoeboxes filled with gifts to more children than might be “proper.” The ‘Military Religious Freedom Foundation’ has astoundingly cowed the Academy. With 4,400 cadets, 132 parents complained, including two sets of Muslim parents. Note that Christian Americans have given billions of dollars to Palestinians for the care of children following Islam, even though we abhor their faith. Then those dollars are used by Hamas to buy weapons to use against the Democracy sitting right next door.
This Academy email went out to the cadets:
“As the holidays approach, we have the opportunity to provide the joy of Christmas to impoverished Children around the world,” read the e-mail sent to some 4,400 cadets and provided to Fox News. “PLEASE, PLEASE CONSIDER SPENDING SOME OF YOUR VALUABLE TIME AND MONEY TO LOVE ON A KID AROUND THE WORLD!!.”
A cadet called and complained to Brig. Gen. Richard Clark. If the story is to believed, Clark apologized. There is some good news, however, because an Air Force Chaplain may be allowed to send out a notice to the “proper audience,” which means fewer children, of all religions around the world, will receive their shoebox.
This is the shameful argument of ‘freedom from religion,’ rather than the First Amendment guarantee that we will have the ‘freedom of religion,’ the one we choose. It prohibits government choosing a religion for us and forcing us to claim it. We were founded as a Christian Nation, saw our abundant blessings coming from The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost, and welcomed others to live on America soil, worship as they please and share our freedom.
Operation Christmas Child said they expect to send more than 8 million shoe box gifts to underprivileged children in 100 countries. Around 60,000 churches and 60,000 community groups in the United States are participating…
Weinstein said an evangelical Christian message is also included in the boxes.
“This is a proselytizing entity of Franklin Graham,” said the group’s president, Mikey Weinstein. He filed a complaint on behalf of 132 Academy personnel including two sets of Muslim-American parents…
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, told Fox News that this is evidence that the Obama administration “has engaged in a culture war beyond measure.”
“We see here the collateral damage – the fallout of religious freedom and the attack on Christian organizations that are simply reaching out to help those in need,” Perkins said. “This is a long pattern under this administration under a president who apologized for everything that is American.”
“It’s so outrageous,” said Jordan Sekulow an attorney with the American Center for Law and Justice. He said the controversy is an example of the cultural shift happening in the United States.
“This is a perfect example of how heartless these groups are when it comes to defending their anti-religion position,” Sekulow said. “It’s not about the First Amendment. It’s about a real hatred of religious people and people of faith that they would go so far as to stop an assistance program like Operation Christmas Child.”
The spokesman for those complaining says Franklin Graham is a “total Islamophobe.” The truth may be that Muslim children all over the world have received these shoeboxes. Are there any Muslims doing a single charitable thing for a poor Christian child, or a child of any faith outside Islam? America’s Sharia Compliant Banks provide interest to “charitable” Muslim entities. Do you think a penny goes to a Christian of any age? Those at the Air Force Academy helm need to grow a pair and try to live up to the courage of their own cadets.
