Syria’s President Bashar Assad has reportedly said if NATO attacks Damascus, he needs only 6 hours to send hundreds of rockets to the Golan Heights to attack Tel Aviv. Actually, he needs only the first three hours to move the rockets. In the second three hours, Iran will fire on U.S. warships in the area.
According to the Fars news agency, the Syrian president stressed that Damascus will also call on Hezbollah in Lebanon to launch a fierce rocket and missile attack on Israel, one that Israeli intelligence could never imagine.
“All these events will happen in three hours, but in the second three hours, Iran will attack US warships in the Persian Gulf as American and European interests will be targeted simultaneously,” Assad reportedly said. Source: Ynet News
(That’s assuming that NATO doesn’t take-out his rockets before he can get them transferred.) The threat was supposedly made from Assad to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Syria controlled the Golan Heights from Israel’s statehood in 1948 – 1967 when Israel ended Syria’s ability to fire across the border at Israeli citizens – including children. The world yawned until the culmination of the 1967 Six Days War when Israel was in possession of far more than Syria’s Golan Heights. Too bad they didn’t keep the land that was originally designated for them. Life might be better for them today had they persisted.
