Libya Rebels Ask NATO to Stay: Gaddafi Family Sues NATO: Bringing Polygamy to Libya Costly

Libya’s new leaders took their first immediate step as authoritarians to reinstate polygamy, obviously to liberate Libya’s women. Next, they have asked NATO to stay until the end of 2012. The goal is to “continue the campaign,” which has been bombing, and using drones to find the “bombing” targets.” Now Libya wants NATO to serve their neighboring countries as well.  And the Gaddafi family, what’s left of it, is suing NATO.

This request is aimed at “ensuring that no arms are infiltrated into those countries and to ensure the security of Libyans from some remnants of Gaddafi’s forces who have fled to nearby countries”, he added.

The NTC is also seeking help from NATO in “developing Libya’s defence and security systems”, Abdel Jalil told the conference.

In New York, Libya’s deputy envoy to the United Nations, Ibrahim Dabbashi, said the NTC may formally ask the Security Council to extend the mandate because a national army has yet to be activated.

However, Russia’s UN ambassador Vitaly Churkin, whose country said the original mandate was abused to bring down the Gaddafi regime rather than protect civilians, said an extension past October 31 would be “unrealistic.” Source: HeraldSun

The Gaddafi family will file a war-crimes complaint against NATO in the International Criminal Court in the Hague. Eric Holder will probably do the prosecuting.

It was unclear when the complaint would be filed, but Ceccaldi said the lawsuit would target NATO executive bodies and leaders of the alliance’s member states. Source: L.A. Times Blog

Old Frizz-Head (as Muammar was affectionately called) was buried today – somewhere. Only a very few people know the burial spot – maybe 4-6 people. I bet that location is out within the month.

My local paper, the Tulsa World, thinks Libya will pay back the $1 Billion the U.S. has invested in the NATO operation, to bring multiple wives to the men of Libya, all in the name of democracy. Right. Sheesh!

Umm…. exactly how does polygamy liberate women? Also, to protect Libyian citizens, Gaddafi and regime had to be brought down to protect civilians as he refused to step down willfully.

    • christy johnson, it was meant to be satire. Most of the regular readers here know my position. Sorry about the confusion. I agree with you.
