Joe Cheater Youth Pastor Child Rape Arrest – Rape, Lewd, Indecent Acts on Children

Joe Cheater, Jr. was a youth pastor working with several churches over the last two years in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area (specifically Catoosa-area churches, a bedroom community to Tulsa). He is charged with sex-related felony charges: two counts of rape and three counts of lewd or indecent proposals to children, or actually more – see below. Very little information is available at this time. I will update as more is known.

Joe Cheater, Jr.

Tulsa’s KRMG has the story by Russell Mills.  On KRMG radio today I heard that the charges against Cheater go back for about 24 months.

NewsOne6 says Cheater was charged with “10 sex crimes,” “four charges of first-degree rape, four counts of lewd acts with a child and two counts of lewd molestation. Cheater is in a Claremore jail on a bond close to a half-million dollars.

  • These perverts deliberately seek to work in churches where the trust level is high. At a church I once attended, my Sunday School teacher got busted with one of the youth. His mug shot was on TV while I was getting my daughter ready for school. Awkward.

I personally don’t see the need for youth groups since I’ve been homeschooling. They don’t really have much to offer my family. On the other end, I’ve been a mid-week and Sunday night Children’s director and it really is impossible to cram what should be daily Bible education into 3 hours at the most.

  • Churches claim they can keep more youth interested in Church if they have their own services and music.
Unfortunately they forget that it separates them from their parents during a time when family should be together. Few families are together during the week and with youth groups or youth church as many churches have there is NO family togetherness.
They claim the younger kids get restless and disturb the adult worshipers but I call howie on that. Children can lean to sit still or do as mine did go to sleep. There was no youth church for her on Sunday morning. She sat with her father and learned the songs of faith, listened to the message and as she got older she would ask questions as we drove to eat or to our home.
Sunday evenings were set aside for youth in the churches we attended and at times she enjoyed going. It appeared however that it was more of a social time rather than a time of teaching. So many opportunities missed.
I was a teacher in the youth department for some years but worship service was for all. A nursery, yes ,for the very young ones who are not old enough to understand and also have a very short attention span. After age 6 they need to be in services with their parents. That would put an end to opportunist taking advantage of children.
The scripture says that people such as Cheater(lord what a name)will be judged and says it will have been better a millstone been tied around their necks

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6
