Today’s Sunday Faith Views include a fascinating video about Christians in Syria (been their from the first century). The photography is beautiful and the story is quite encouraging. There are evangelical churches in Damascus, as well as many Catholic and Orthodox churches. In other videos there are three segments of the Jesus film, which I had not heard about before today. It is called the ‘Missionary’s Secret Weapon.’ Find two short subject studies from Carl Middleton, on the Apostle John – ‘Covered in Blood,’ and the other, from John 6:44 on being “drawn” to God. In News, a dire situation in Egypt, turning deadly in Israel. The challenges for Israel will not go away anytime soon, as the Muslim Brotherhood is prepared to take control. The second news story is about Academia and ‘normalizing’ Pedophilia, Hebephilia and Ephebophilia.
Two thought-provoking subject studies from Carl Middleton at GOD’S ANSWER is always Jesus. Last week the study was Covered in Blood. This is a beautiful, short essay about John, and his part in the scene at the crucifixion, when all other apostles had stayed away. It is one of my favorites from Carl’s work.
This week he is talking about being “drawn” to God when “Few are Chosen,” taken from (John 6:44). Carl brings up the uncomfortable thought that, indeed, “few are chosen.” I hope you have a few minutes to read these two pieces. Everything Carl does makes me think, and sometimes, think and think and think.
Christians in Syria:
Enjoy an interesting video of Christianity in Syria. Do you know where the John The Baptist’s head now rests? You might after watching. About 10% of Syria’s population is Christian. The video says there are about 6 evangelical churches in Damascus. An evangelical pastor says the Christian church in Syria is living in it’s golden age, and they worship freely, but 8 Christian house churches were shutdown by authorities in 2010. One of the speakers says that Syria is very open, many women walking around in Western church. Many beautiful scenes in this video. Thanks to CBN

Are you familiar with the Jesus film? I was not. It’s mentioned in the video above.
Every eight seconds, somewhere in the world, another person indicates a decision to follow Christ after watching the “JESUS” film.
Every eight seconds… that’s 10,800 people per day, 324,000 per month and more than 3.8 million per year! That’s like the population of the entire city of Pittsburgh, PA coming to Christ every 28 ¼ days. And yet, if you are like many people, you may have never even heard of it.
Called by some “one of the best-kept secrets in Christian missions,” a number of mission experts have acclaimed the film as one of the greatest evangelistic tools of all time. Since 1979 more than 200 million men, women and children worldwide have indicated decisions to follow Jesus after viewing the film. In addition, through hundreds of partners an estimated 10+ million decisions have been made as the film “JESUS” is used extensively by the Body of Christ worldwide.
Missionary’s Secret Weapon – The Jesus Film
I found what I believe is the Jesus film. It’s available on YouTube in 13 separate videos of about 10 minutes each – and taken from the Gospel of Luke. I’m posting the first three. I have not finished the series, but the quality if wonderful.

I’ll refer you to another blog I did today on Egypt, Israel and Palestine. Israel is in great danger as Egypt sets aside the Peace Treaty they have had with Israel for more than 30 years. An al-Qaeda affiliated group entered the Sinai from Gaza and crossed the Israeli border, killing 8 and wounding 30. In the meantime, the Muslim Brotherhood has warned the military not to get in their way as they try to take control writing the new constitution, that should have brought democracy to the people, but didn’t. All of this means that the original Christians in Egypt, the Copts, are in great danger. Read that story here.
Academia and Pedophilia, Hebephilia and Ephebophilia:
Don’t worry. I wasn’t familiar with those last two. Christians need to know about Academia and the mental health profession’s work to normalize pedophilia, hebephilia and Ephebophilia. It’s a discouraging report. Read it here.
