Rick Perry: Global Warming Phony, Contrived, Job Killer

Newly-announced candidate for president, Texas Governor Rick Perry, took a big step toward separating himself from Mitt Romney by saying global warming is a “contrived phony mess,” and a job killer. In June 2011, Romney momentarily forgot he was running under the ruse of conservatism and confirmed his stance on global warming: it’s “real” and we “humans” contribute to it.

Rick Perry

Perry calls global warming “all one contrived phony mess that is falling apart under its own weight,” the British Guardian reports.

Perry is virtually unique in the current presidential field in that he hasn’t expressed concern about climate change in the past, so he won’t have to do any back-pedaling…

Perry also prays for a rollback of EPA regulations: “Frankly I pray for the president every day,” he recently told CBN News. “I pray for his wisdom. I pray that God will open his eyes. I wish this president would turn back the health-care law that’s been passed, ask that his EPA back down all these regulations that are causing businesses to hesitate to spend money.”

Government regulations are a critical issue. When Congress failed to take up Cap and Trade, Obama gave the EPA unprecedented power – outside the purview of Congress. Between ObamaCare and the EPA our country is drowning in the hogslop of Washington D.C. It must stop. The fact that Romney didn’t understand the importance of ClimateGate is astounding.  Read Mitt Romney’s his comments here. See background articles on global warming below.

  • Perry has issues. All candidates do. But the fact is, the guy makes decisions, and owns up to them when he is wrong.

    • LC Aggie Sith, that’s a good point. I have to say, I am very concerned about his immigration stance, and I’m having a hard time getting over it. The only reason he instituted the DREAM Act, in my opinion, is that he was counting voters. Perry is too bottom line to believe that it is only “fair” to send illegals to school at in-state tuition rates. I don’t believe his explanation.

He will have to answer this, and perhaps his answer will be, okay, I’ve heard America, I’ve learned my lesson (as did McCain after the Kennedy-McCain amnesty fiasco).

It’s something I’ll have to find a way around before I can support him. I look forward to hearing what he has to say.

  • Maggie, here is a great investigative report on Rick Perry that I came across today. Give it a look when you have time.

  • Ran

There is a lot to like about Perry. Kicking RINOmney’s weenie tuchus is one of them. I had missed this.

    Thank-you Maggie!

    • Thanks Ran. So much popping news!

  • The way the mainstream media responds to Perry’s statement about skeptic scientists shows what they fear the most, namely the public discovering such skeptics could really be whistleblowers on the IPCC and Al Gore. To prevent this from happening, the promoters of global warming have made mostly successful efforts to marginalize skeptic scientists for 15-20 years, and it seems that Perry’s rival Jon Huntsman begs for a confrontation on this – a rather unwise tactic for Huntsman.
