Newly-announced candidate for president, Texas Governor Rick Perry, took a big step toward separating himself from Mitt Romney by saying global warming is a “contrived phony mess,” and a job killer. In June 2011, Romney momentarily forgot he was running under the ruse of conservatism and confirmed his stance on global warming: it’s “real” and we “humans” contribute to it.
Perry calls global warming “all one contrived phony mess that is falling apart under its own weight,” the British Guardian reports.
Perry is virtually unique in the current presidential field in that he hasn’t expressed concern about climate change in the past, so he won’t have to do any back-pedaling…
Perry also prays for a rollback of EPA regulations: “Frankly I pray for the president every day,” he recently told CBN News. “I pray for his wisdom. I pray that God will open his eyes. I wish this president would turn back the health-care law that’s been passed, ask that his EPA back down all these regulations that are causing businesses to hesitate to spend money.”
Government regulations are a critical issue. When Congress failed to take up Cap and Trade, Obama gave the EPA unprecedented power – outside the purview of Congress. Between ObamaCare and the EPA our country is drowning in the hogslop of Washington D.C. It must stop. The fact that Romney didn’t understand the importance of ClimateGate is astounding.
