Sunday Faith News/Views 7-3-11 Liberty Edition

Religion and politics make perfect sense to me. In these Sunday Faith, news and views posts, I hope to highlight some of the important issues of our time. Today in News is Obama’s acceptance of The Muslim Brotherhood in the control of Egypt, the plight of Coptic Christians there; the acceptance of the Brotherhood inside U.S. Government, American taxpayer monies going to Tunisia, which has vowed no “normalization” of relations with Israel in their new Constitution; a day of prayer for our country today, and charitable giving. In Views is a Biblical word study of the word “if,” and why it is important to your prayer life.

Today, one million Americans have pledged to pray for their country and ask for forgiveness. Citing 2nd Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land,” churches from sea to shining sea will pray on bended knee.

Tunisia and American Taxpayer Dollars, from Human Events:

Tunisia is formulating a new Constitution that forbids any “normalization” of relations with Israel. The document says Tunisia is a “free and democratic country,” their official language is Arab and their religion is Islam. The Obama Administration gave $20 million to support Tunisian democracy last month.

Egypt:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton revealed this week that the Obama administration is cooperating with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, where as much as 10% of the population is Coptic Christian. The Brotherhood lives by their motto (which doesn’t provide for Christian beliefs, or any beliefs other than radical Islam):

“Allah is our objective, the profit is our leader, the Koran is our law, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

Remember the young Egyptian freedom fighters who so valiantly fought to bring freedom to their families? Their path to freedom did not include living under Muslim Brotherhood rule – yet, that’s what happening under the not-so-watchful eye of the U.S. The youth movement has been rendered non-existant – the bearded Brothers have taken charge. The Salafist Muslim Brotherhood instituted a new “Modesty Law,” which checks the “virginity” of Egyptian women. Appalling!

Not a word about this gross intrusion into the lives of women from the Leader of the Free World. I predict we will see American aid to Egypt increased now that it can be placed into the hands of a controlling body once again calling for the demise of Israel.

How many times have we asked ourselves how much better off we would be had Hillary won the 2008 elections? Daily we see how her own radicalism has grown, how she champions Muslim countries, and has had a Muslim woman, with family connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, in high positions in her office since 1996. That woman, Huma Abedin Weiner is the wife of disgraced, former U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner.

The future for Coptic Christians inside Egypt is not bright, although new protective laws are said to be in the works. If you believe those laws will be respected by the Brotherhood, I have a swamp full of miles and miles of gold in Florida that I’d like to talk to you about.

Charitable Giving Increased for First Time Since 2007:

Individuals, companies and philanthropic institutions made gifts and pledges totaling an estimated $290.89 billion in 2010, an increase of 2.1 percent on an inflation-adjusted basis over a revised estimate of $284.85 billion the year before.

The increase was the first since 2007, when the recession started and led to the biggest decline in giving in more than 40 years.

Remember that Obama’s 2012 budget called for limiting tax deductions for charitable giving, with the tax savings to the government going to fund ObamaCare.

If enacted, President Barack Obama’s proposed budget for fiscal year (FY) 2012 will likely dampen charitable giving. The President not only calls for raising the tax rate on high earners beginning in January 2013, but also proposes reducing their income tax deduction for charitable giving beginning in January 2012. This both weakens the incentive for the wealthy to give and shifts the perceived responsibility for social welfare from individual donors to the state…

Since taking office, Barack Obama has often repeated the claim that the wealthy need to bear more of the burden for government social services. However, he has carefully avoided acknowledging that the less than 5 percent of taxpayers who earn more than $200,000 annually already pay 48 percent of all federal income taxes. Furthermore, these same taxpayers make significant donations to private charities.

This is a handy way for the Government to be the philanthropist, and to fund pet projects you and I may disdain.

Biblical Word Study of “if:”

Carl at GOD’S ANSWER is always Jesus looks at the nine verses from the Bible containing the word “if,” and finds God’s promises for our fulfillment are dependent upon what follows the “if.” If you feel your prayers are not often answered when you pray, look at this word study of “if,” and see if you are participating with Him, or without Him.

Sending blessings to you and yours for a joyful and safe celebration of our Nation’s Independence Day.
