The Guardian has a really interesting article on Rupert Grint who has played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films for more than half his life. Take a look at the first video below which is the first screen test with Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermoine (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint). Look how good these three were before they even got started.
He’s the only one of the three who remembers to act when he’s not speaking lines, for a start, and he reaches a glorious peak of dramatic effort when Watson, as girl wizard Hermione, reads from a book about an ancient piece of magic that is supposed to prevent death. Beside her Grint – frowning and baffled, then eyebrows up to consider it properly, then a quick, approving nod – suggests all of man’s complicated feelings towards immortality.
I hope you’ll read the Guardian article here. You get a good sense of who Rupert Grint is, and he wasn’t much like the No. 2 Wizard in real life.
It seems like only yesterday when the magic began. I wonder if such a thing will every happen again? If you haven’t seen the trailer for the last Harry Potter sequel to be released, The Deathly Hallows, Part 2, on July 15th, see it in the second video.
