The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW) have called for a Congressional investigation into News Corp’s FCC license, and they are making the same call once again. The Department of Justice is already investigating claims that Rupert Murdoch’s New of the World tapped the phones of families of victims of September 11, 2001, however, as yet, there appears to be no substance for those claims made when the scandal first broke. Roseanne Barr believes Murdoch was interested in her phone conversations and garbage. I see this coming out of Hollywood now, like a dry, hot wind.
According to a news release from CREW, “significant character deficiencies may warrant disqualification from holding a license” as “broadcast frequencies may be used only by people of good ‘character,’ who will serve ‘the public interest,’ and speak with ‘candor.’”
“Given all the underhanded, devious and illegal activities of News. Corp, combined with James Murdoch’s failure to be candid when he testified before a parliamentary committee,” CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan said, “it seems evident the Murdochs don’t meet the FCC’s character standard.”
“Congress should hold hearings on this issue and forward its findings to the FCC for further action against News Corp,” Sloan said. “Holding U.S. broadcast licenses is a privilege, not a right. The Murdochs — through a pattern of misconduct and deception – may have lost that right.” (Roseanne Barr: Rupert Murdoch tapped my phones)
Roseanne Barr is claiming she has been victimized by Rupert Murdoch, the NewsCorp CEO:
“And he tapped my phones, and people went through my garbage and all that kind of stuff does kind of drive you crazy.”
You don’t think Barr will be the last in the entertainment industry to make these claims, do you? I can see the whole of Hollywood testifying before Congress. Jerking the license of News Corp, the parent company of Fox News is a sweet dream for Leftists.
