First, the Department of Justice (DOJ) would not allow employees to respond to Senate subpoenas looking into Operation Fast and Furious. Now we know the witnesses coming forth were prepped on what to say and how to say it. The background on this story is linked below, but the short story is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE/ATF) illegally sold military-styled weapons to straw buyers and let those weapons cross the US border into Mexico. Border Agent Brian Terry and Immigration Officer Jaime Zapata were murdered by one of the 2000+ guns that crossed. Attorney General Eric Holder says he had no knowledge of Operation Fast and Furious. Few believe that. Most of us believe the purpose behind F&F was to catch American guns sellers in illegal acts and tighten gun control laws on the march to decimating the Second Amendment. In fact, a new reporting restriction became law last week.

Department of Justice witnesses appearing before a congressional inquiry into allegations of gunrunning were prepped about what to say, Rep. Darrell Issa and Sen. Charles Grassley contend.
The witnesses were told to look at documents before answering committee questions into the Operation Fast and Furious scandal, Issa and Grassley said. The department even warned the committee against doing exactly the same, they said…
The Justice Department afforded witnesses access to a shared hard drive “replete with pertinent investigative documents, including ATF e-mails,” Issa and Grassley say in a letter to Holder. Issa, of California, and Grassley, of Iowa, lead Republicans on the congressional inquiries.
A hard drive was dedicated to material the DOJ put together for witnesses. Employees had a link to that drive on their computers. Congressman Darrell Issa and Senator Charles Grassley want to know which agents-witnesses knew about the drive, and had access to it. They are asking for a log of the documents.
Department of Justice deputy assistant director for ATF field operations tipped Issa and Grassley to the prep methods.
