About those stats, I have some but I don’t know his real handicap on the links. I hear that secret is as heavily guarded as who forged his latest birth certificate. It’s Democrats vs. Republicans on the golf course next weekend. Obama/Biden will challenge Speaker of the House John Boehner. and the Governor of Ohio, John Kasich – both from Ohio. A word to Boehner, don’t even think about losing – no excuses for the strokes you’ll have to give him, no excuses because your opponents are whiney, spoiled and bratish Democrats.
Obama left the family and Camp David today to get in some practice.
Today makes 11 weekends in a row that Obama has gone golfing. It’s his 14th outing this year and the 72nd of his presidency.
President Lyndon Johnson once told his golf partners, “One lesson you’d better learn if you want to be in politics is you never get out on a golf course and beat the president.” New York Times writer Don Van Natta, Jr. is betting Boehner will not heed that advice unless…Obama takes all the strokes he wants in exchange for a “trillion dollars per stroke.”
In the annals of presidential golf history, the Obama-Boehner round next weekend is an oddity. A president has never played a round of golf with the leader of the opposing party who was also considered a near-lock to win the match (the closest thing was a round L. B. J. played with Dwight D. Eisenhower in February 1968 at Seven Lakes Country Club in Palm Springs, Calif.; Ike won in a breeze).
Obama’s handicap is rumored to be 16 – 20-something; Boehner’s between 5 and 8.
