Orrin Hatch: Congressional Resolution of Disapproval of Obama Israel Stance

I think this is the first time I’ve heard of a “Congressional Resolution of Disapproval.” It could have been rightly used once a day for the last 18 months. Senator Orrin Hatch is objecting to Obama’s stance on Israel returning to the borders of the pre-1967 Six Day War (when Israel was forced to fight).

The Hill:

Orrin Hatch

“By calling for a return to the pre-1967 borders, President Obama has directly undermined her,” Hatch said of Israel. “Rather than stand by Israel against consistent unprovoked aggression by longtime supporters of terrorism, President Obama is rewarding those who threaten Israel’s very right to exist. This is not only ridiculous, but dangerous.”

After the Netanyahu-Obama press conference, when the Israeli prime minister said publicly that Israel will NEVER return to those borders, and said it is time Palestinians are told it will NEVER happen (presumably by the leader of the Free World – Barack Obama), Hatch says Israel has the right to “maintain its territorial integrity.”

Returning to the pre-war borders (which were already illegally in the hands of the Arab world) means the Palestinians, under the control of terrorist organizations, Hamas and Fatah, would control Jerusalem and the sites most revered by Christians. Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit has that story.

Let’s have more of these Congressional Resolutions of Disapproval! Read Netanyahu’s press conference comments here. Memeorandum has a developing thread.

  • Thank God for men like Sen. Orrin Hatch who walk the walk not just talk.
