Rule 5 Saturday Night has some fun with fellow-Oklahoman Carrie Underwood, American Idol Winner Season 4, 2005. Carrie is a five-time Grammy Award winner. She has had ten No. 1 Billboard Hot Country Songs and is tied with another Oklahoman, Reba McEntire, as the Female Country Artist for the Most No. 1 hits. Carrie has a Golden Globe Award and is the first female artist to win back-to-back Academy of Country Music Awards for Entertain of the Year in 2009 and 2010. Her first single was introduced one month after winning Idol, and debuting at No. 1. Her debut album, Some Hearts, was released six months after the Idol win and is the fastest selling country debut album the history of the SoundScan era (whatever that this).
Oklahoma has been home to many music greats, including: Ronnie Dunn – formerly of Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks, Kristen Chenoweth, Gary Busey, Hoyt Axton, Roy Clark, Eddie Cochrane, David Gates, Leon Russell, Toby Keith, Leona Mitchell, Roger Miller, Patty Page, Sandi Patty, Blake Shelton, Bob Wills, The Flaming Lips, Lee Hazlewood, Woody Guthrie, Vince Gill, The Gap Band, J.J. Cale, Chet Baker, many more and, of course, Reba and Carrie.
