Egyptians are voting today in the historic matter of bringing freedom to the people. Long lines are reported with polls closing at 7 pm Cairo-time. It is about 5 pm in Cairo this minute. There is no new constitution. The people are not voting for a president, but for tweaks to the constitution that some say are an invitation to tyranny. The anti-government protesters are AGAINST the proposed changes to the amendments. Mohamed ElBaradei, the former chief of the IAEA is against the changes. The Muslim Brotherhood is FOR them. The once-exiled imam, Yusuf al-Qaradawi has told the people to vote ‘YES.’ I’ll have updates here on the vote as information is available. In the meantime, you can catch up with what the world is saying about the “tweaks” here.
